Thud rumble are such a strange company. They love hyping stuff then basically never deliver a retail product. They've got extreme funding from somewhere to do all this prototyping but nothing ever seems to come of it.
I think it's a good idea to integrate the screen in to a mixer and I liike the arcade buttons but again, I doubt we'll ever see a retail product.
The pi systems are fine from a hobby point of view, but no one in their right mind is ever going to turn up to a gig with one of them
The obermod is a nice bit of work but really it's just a custom controller with a NI Audio Soundcard built in and mini all in one PC. AGin, it's nice that you literally don't need anything else and that it has video capability but all the guys actually doing VJ'ing have really serious and unique setups so an all in one is never really going to cut it.
I'm glad though people are still trying to push the envelope with technology. I just with that someone would make a tiny box, that you shove a usb stick in to and it just gives you the track date on a little illuminated LCD. Basically a CDJ for usb sticks that can read timecode.
