not true.
The pitch might be analog, but there is a certain precision. The SL1200's are 0.025% accurate while the ST100s are 0.20% accurate. Maybe slightly noticable, but still, there is a difference
What sound quality is concerned:
rumble >78dB (DIN B) for the SL1200 and
More than 50dB (DIN-B) for the ST100
There is also a difference in the tonearm. It's just better quality with less chance of skipping. If you do a backspin with an STR8-30 you have a much higher chance of skipping. The technics tonearms will almost never cause any skipping.
You can't say that an st100 is better than an sl1200 'cuz that simply is impossible. You cant have a better machine for 100€ less. As always, you get what you pay for. The ST100 isn't a cheap turntable either, but it's still inferior to the sl1200. Not TOO inferior, but technics are proffesional equipment for clubs and people with alot of money, while the ST100s are for people who dj at home with a smaller budget.
