I had all of the Pioneer stuff well before I went fully digital. I still use the EFX 1000, and the mixer is okay for now until something better comes along. I really don't need the CDJ's but am keeping them because I have friends that use them sometimes. If I could unload everything and not get hosed believe me I would. Everything works for me right now. All I need is a Zero 8 and a few other midi controllers and I should be good.

I love the rotary knobs, i'll never go back to faders. The DJM 800 isn't my favorite mixer but the alternatives are not very appealing to me right now, especially considering the fact that i'll lose a lot of $$$ if I sell the DJM. It's just not worth it. Once I find suitable midi controllers I can pretty much run everything through 2 channels, so the mixer won't be as important. Perhaps i'll pick up a Xone 92 at that point....

I use one to play full tracks and the other to launch efx clips

Yeah, he could have bought a house instead. Probably.

It was intended to be a joke, making reference to the fact that he is able to buy thousands of pounds worth of equipment he doesn't really need. I do know that houses cost more than the price of 1 laptop, 2 CDJ1000's, and an efx1000.
Talk about trolling...

What do you think of the Firebox? |
The Firebox is great. I've had no issues with it at all. For the price it can't be beat. Sure you can buy an M-Audio (or other brand) card with more outputs for the same price or cheaper, but from my research and from talking with others those cards tend to have their issues. I bought mine new on Ebay for $275 shipped. Just make sure you won't need more than 3 outputs and you'll be okay.
If I could take it back I would have paid a little more and bought a used Motu Ultralite........
