Regarding 205wip - you would remove current sub from bassline, and recreate it separately with dedicated sub instrument to get more fullness?
I used to do that same thing. I would take two of the same track. Eq low and the other EQ high. This was a standard until my friend asked "wtf are you doing?" And truly he is right. You do not need to go to that amount of effort and can be achieved with EQ.
I use Ableton stock EQ most of the time. In the first filter I use a Low cut and adjust from 90 to 180hz pending the amount of lower frequency.
Then, I just click it off and adjust my 2 & 4th filters (high passing the 4th)

I agree, in fact I hear a sine wave about an octave higher where it should be(where it would sound nice). It is constant and follows the bass, so I assume its a layer in the bass synth, lower it by an octave or two and see how it sounds. EQing it out might be too destructive. What are you monitoring with?

Yeah, kick is panned left, by mistake Ahh.. thanks
Back to this one with my last attempt. Next, i'm going north for sure.
This is a very enjoyable track to me. on the technical side those noise impacts hit too hard, they are too loud, apart from that its a really nice track.

After producing for a commercial EDM group for a while, I lost the will to live and got a huge writers block for two years. I'm now trying to get back in but I'm having a hard time escaping the 4 chord pop progression formula.
This is what I came up with lately, there isn't much going on yet, I can't think of a lead.
Any opinions on both the mix and the musical idea would be greatly appreciated!

I like it, nice chords and groovy. Kick maybe stands out to much.

i like this - just need something to come in later, a lead like you said or an arp maybe
i think you have too much sub going on there however, its really heavy
note: i boosted the drums at 80hz to give the kick a bit more oomph - also sent the drums to some very short reverb - 4K compressor on the master just to even everything out a tad

I like it! It's got more groove now. Maybe a bit too much down there. Can you finish this? Collab ? I would really like to publish something . And i probably wont finish this by myself. It just need a little polish.

Yes it's a layer of bass synth, but i don't know how to lower octave just on that layer...I'll check it, thanks. Glad you like the track!
I'm monitoring with 50$ Logitech 2.1 system . I also have a pair of Zensor 3 on some yamaha reciever in living room. I use that sometimes. If that was what you were asking.
