Here's a prog track, help me mix it please guys
[/QUOTE]
Actually, the best part for me is from 2:05 to 2:36, that happy main melody is not my cup of tea, also to much white noise (from open synth) overall... maybe that style of music has to sound like that, i'm realy far far away from being an expert .
Btw.. I've got an interesting review from one musician, and he said that there must be some rules applied to track composition so that labels would even consider your track for publishing.. What do you think about that?
quote: | If a DJ uses a 6-minute track in his mix, a minute til a minute and 30 in the beginning and end of the it would be lost in the mixing process. This means that the musical idea of this track has to be developed in that minute - 01:30 in its beginning. This rule applies no matter if the track is used for a mix or not. I like your track but what do I mean - in my opinion after 00:15min the bass line has to come in, the kick - 00:32min, 01:18min - again full drums as well as stringpad, which comes at the end of the track(right now). If you wish, you can change the stringpad but keep the original idea. That way the main idea of the track will become developed. About the pauses in the track - in this case it would be better to make just one, around 30 secs before the second course of the stringpad. |
