@ SystematicX1 - Yeah, we will see how much I will have to adjust this track to vocal lol - it may take some work to balance nicely everything together, thanks man
@Storyteller - Very good observation about bass line which is already on the list of required adjustments (either by playing different note, EQ or even by shifting to different octave), appreciate
@Richard Butler - yes, sounds choices or selection is in many cases a personal think lol and I'm always after nice flow and balance with respect to melody and atmosphere which I want to create, your opinion always count my friend
@vercetti - some interesting point you made man, as far as white noise, yes will be adjusted appropriately when I get final vocal into this track also piano "does not fit rhythm wise" statement need to be check out farther as so far I'm not hearing the same issue as you are but I can tell you one think that one setting in Kontakt piano was off a bit (detuned parameter) and sounded really weird so thanks for this
Really appreciate to all who was listening to this production
Darek

Too much white noise, use that shit sparingly. Second the lead being a bit harsh, and there's something off about piano melody at 2:30ish it does not gel well with the main 8ths loop "feel" of the track. I think the least 3 notes of that piano melody should be just 2 otherwise it just does not fit rhythm wise.
So yeah, post the track once you get proper vocals. |
its good man I don't expect any mixing issues from you but just kind of seems like ground that has already be covered, years back even. it's good for what it is, 2008-ish adamK/deadmau5 proghouse/trance

Nicest around the 1.15 mark, but the bass is not sitting well and the attack of the bass seems to vary from quite sharp to less so, so the bass for me needs attention. I like the actual bass notes but it needs a more pro execution than you have so far. I also listened on small Dell speakers and the bass was distorting the track.
Ok a bit later on that syncy lead comes in and keeps then popping up, for me it spoils the atmos[here you have. It's the sort of thing maybe that could make a very brief appearance IMO.
Better to do away with it and focus more on the stabby relaxed feel you create around the 1.15 mark.
All IMO of course, lol! |
I wouldn't say it's "not sitting well" it's just a mixing decision, it's a bit boomy but I think overall everything is pretty balanced. if anything my qualms are with the drums, just kinda repetitive. if anything i'd make it deeper by focusing on the bass/perc and not so much the acidy synth part. has good atmosphere in parts and i think that could be focused on instead of the acid synth part. i think some minimal use of that in parts could enhance the atmo. cool for what it is tho.

this would be a pretty solid idea except the kick just completely disappears in the mix. a bit whimpy. a kick with a tight transient and a presence in the bass area would bring it around but idk what that would do for all the other elements drowning the kick, even if they are nice sounding

First part until 2:10 is great. Like the sound, athmosphere and melody.
