Yeah the kurzwell looks nice but i wonder how it sounds since i never heard one before.

like a really bad 80s soundtrack. But not the really budget ones that had this sort of cool cheapness to it ie nightmar4e on elm street.

what? I thought kurzwell was just a controller, like a really well-weighted piano bed that didn't actually play sound...I guess I was wrong about that totally....I didn't know it was an actual piano....

It's a PC3X (88-weighted key workstation/ROMpler/synth). And, no, it's not the 80s thing that L4C is thinking of (K-series), but it is based on that generation and, yeah, its orchestra samples do sound a bit dated. If you've turned on a radio or seen a movie in the past 8 years or so, then you've definitely heard this. Like most Kurzweils, it's highly regarded for its piano sounds, but it's not just a ROMpler - it has V.A.S.T. synthesis built into it, which is widely regarded as one of the deepest virtual synth engines available in hardware (and a complete PITA to work with!).

Their not 1210's their RP7000's and they fit in good, I put them in there for so i can fit short power cord and rca cable. i dont get vibration anyway from studio monitors. Its not like i stepped on a frag mine blown my leg off for christ sake.

rotating the screens would be a decent option, I have two horizontal, and one almost flat in front which has a the mix console on it - works quite well, might replace the flat one with a touch screen at some point after the summer (where I'll be stuck with a virus ti and a macbook + headphones)

Man, I need to layer my desk more like yours Andy. Its hard without doing that to have access to both your computer keyboard and MIDI keyboard, as well as any additional equipment.

I just cut up some mdf and screwed it on top of my old computer trolly, cost less than 10 quid

Had to downsize my midi keyboard, but I can't play anyway so the micro does the job for bashing out notes when I need to.

Very simple and elegant. I'm liking it Andy!
