no i had the nord rack 3 which was ok, easy to program but coloured limited sounds. the virus rack xl (1HE version of C) was just terrible to program with its 4 knobs and buttons but had some nice presets and alot of functionality yet terrible soft efex. microQ had some ok pad-presets and other stuff, and was ok to program but all in all they were all quite bad experiences in total imo. the jp8080 was actually the best of them with its limitations yet many knobs and great sounding waveforms. the only synth id ever want again of these typical VAs would be nord rack 2x but basically i dont see the fuzz about hardware without enough knobs to be instant to all available parametres. i dont think theres any difference between virus b and c when it comes to sound quality, only the c has more "stuff". it might be just me but i really didnt think it sounded any better than software. probably because i didnt have an pcie ssd and focals at the time (dont know if it even existed then).
