wow i wouldnt guess that they look bigger. theyre awesome though. is it genelec stands too? looking for something like that myself as keeping them on the desk sux. but didnt u use to have 8040? too big?

Yeah i used to have 8040 but they were too big for my use. i think these sound better on low volumes anyway. Stands are not genelec, just mic stands and very cheap also, like 30 euros each. http://www.thomann.de/fi/km_233bk_tischstativ.htm

do they stand on the desk? hows that for resonanse etc? i was thinking about like 120cm floorstands but i cant really find any decent looking.

yeah they are standing on a desk. There is foam or something on a bottom of stand so i dont think theres any resonance...

you know, that's a funny thing about Gene's; I love their detail but nearly ever speaker they make give me really bad fatigue at decent/high mixing volume. They are really harsh to listen to at high volume, really harsh, but at lower volumes, they present really well.

that is the common problem with metaldometweeters
