Like onceler said it does but only the Xone-92. At least in the US the 92 (even the linear version) is $500 more than the Nuo5.

After comparing both these mixers on a big system, in terms of sound quality I'd go for the A&H. Amazing

Don't get me wrong the Nuo 5 is a great mixer but after using it quite alot I didn't think it was worth the money to be honest. The effects unit is nice to use and also the larger EQ nobs are a nice feature because you can be more accurate with your mixing. But its just not an Allen & Heath

Once you get used to the four band EQ on the Xone 92 you don't want to go back. They've been in the game for along time, and it shows through the build and output quality thats put into these mixers.

Oh yea, I should mention that a mate of mine bought the Nuo-5 brand new 3 weeks ago. Soon after he had the chance to go on a Xone 92... hes already put the Ecler up on ebay

The 92 is $500 - $700 more than the Nuo5, I wouldn't really put those 2 in the same category. For me, the mixers that are around the Ecler are...
Pioneer 600 (didn't price this)
A&H 62 ($900 best price)
Denon x1500 ($700 best price)

All of those mixers are under $1000 whereas the best price of the 92 I have found has been around $1500 for the non-rotary version. If you can afford to get the 92, by all means, get the 92. To me, the decision should be for if you can afford to spend $1000 on a mixer, which one would you go for?

Has anybody compared the Nuo5 vs the Xone 62 on a large system and not known which mixer was pumping out when? (ie: someone was in the booth playing on a mixer, then switched it out and played the same songs w/ the other mixer w/o you seeing it?) My gut feeling here is that the people who support the Nuo5 or the people that support the Xone were looking at the mixer and heard it that way, while in the back of their head, they have made up their mind before hearing it.

Ecler Nuo vs Allen Heath Xone vs Pioneer DJM vs Numark DXM

I am an audiophile. First mixer and players I owned was Numark DXM02 and CDJ200s. It was good enough sounding setup. The input fader started bleeding, then I got a Xone 32, one of the better mixers regardless of price. It really makes anything sound pleasant, but adds color and little good distortion. Then I sold the CDJ200s and Xone 32 because the Xone didn't have enough LEDs per channel and Cue PFL LEDs. So I got Ecler Nuo 2, Audio 2 DJ card, and CDJ101s midi decks. The sound changed completely, it became very dark green but still analog sounding. There was no distortion at any level unless I was a dickhead. The little excitement of the Xone 32 was lost, but I feel like the sound was much easier to listen to for longer periods. The Ecler has a dark yellow color in terms of sound, but the Audio 2 card makes it sound greenish. The Ecler warms up fully in about 30 minutes and that's when it sounds best. I will not sell this mixer until I have a major need of FX or superior sound quality. I've heard the DJM mixers, 600, 400, and 800 in clubs. They sound too refined to my ears, like there's some filtration/equalization going on or something. Ecler sounds more analog/smooth than any mixer I heard so far. It's hard to make it sound bad unless you're stupid. Though the clearest sound I heard so far was from Rane Empath. I haven't heard the DJM 909 but I am positive it sounds great too. So conclusion is, Pioneer sounds clear/refined, Allen Heath sounds warm/excited, Rane sounds clear/euphoric, and Ecler sounds warm/smooth.

And for those that want to get a vintage rotary Bozak/Urei, don't waste your money. Just get a stereo tube preamp and have it after your mixer. Results are much better and you don't have to get used to the Bozak/Urei workflow.

I am one of the few if not the only member on here with an EVO 5. It's the best djing related purchase I've ever made. Got it for 1k in 09 at the height of the economic downtown of a guy on eBay barely used.

Sound quality is really amazing when I record via FireWire straight from the build in mixer. Although this is their top line model, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ecler to anyone. The Nuo 5 was their top model anyway.

Plus, you gotta love the fat knobs.

What's going on people? bumping a thread from 2004?

And what's with the "color is dark yellow"? WTF? Like that will make sense to anyone.

Pioneer (all of them) sound average at best, and turn to utter turd if you even begin to redline them.

Elcer are very good audio quality wise - I've never been a fan of their layouts or tactile feel but that's a personal preference. The always did huge EQ knobs but small fader knobs and spaced them out too much. I also didn;t like that the faders are really short throw on the EVO5 but again, it's personal preference.

A&H are great in terms of quality but the fader are really long throw on the zone making quick cuts a little bit difficult. They also have stupid vertical knobs which are a pain to use compared to the normal dj fader knobs. The routing on Xone's has always been a little wonky too (you have to patch out of the mixer on some, and go back in to another channel). The filters are great though and they're well made.

To be honest, if you ended up with either one of these brands they you're doing alright.

I'll stick with my vintage club install Vestax until it (and my brand new boxed spare) craps out on me.

Dark yellow makes perfect sense. I posted a link to a book in the thread paulino made about placing stuff in the stereo image, it covers a lot of the different colors different timbres have. should give it a read. probably the book from school I learned most from.

hearing

we all have a bit different hearing and people have synesthesia, which is being able to put a color to any sound by instinct or natural feel. it's hard to explain but to other synesthedes it makes perfect sense. the only difference could be is that others will choose a different color.
