Not neccessarily (sp)... to get pic like the ones i posted you need to have a Macro (close ups) function NOT zoom. Zoom actually is for pulling objects in. not for getting intrique details from 1 inch away. Megapixel helps if you are taking pics larger that 1200x800... Mine is a 2MP cam and those pics are at 1024x768...

I got a new cam a few weeks ago, for 70 bucks... but it was an upgrade from a 1.0 to 3.2 mpixel... so its cool...

Decided to take a few new pics of my gear.

I took these pics in pitch black darkness, with the 10 second exposure setting on, i suppose i got a bit carried away

(my apologies to the messy set-up, i have bricks set up under everything so my set up is taller)
