Traktor Scratch Pro 2 Users Out There?

I have a Traktor Native mixer in the Ecler Evo 5. I'm thinking about making the switch from Torq which is a few years discontinued (but has worked great) to a more modern DVS. I'm still running two cdj-800 mks which I want to remain in the picture via external control. TSP2 seems like the best option given my setup. If I went Serato, I'd have to get another external sound box. I figure I might as well use the integrated connectivity of my mixer.

Any users out there? Thoughts?

I've used both and honestly, if you've already got a Traktor Cert'd mixer, then it really makes sense to go with traktor.

I do like serato but I just hate the fact you pay $500 for a $50 soundcard just to be able to run it.

Do bear in mind though, anyone can run Traktor with any interface now - I posted a guide on here on how to hack Traktor so it thinks any soundcard is certified, so it's less of a barrier now.

I will traktor is a very good platform. I don't really care for all the FX but it is solid and I like the fact you can record internally.

Appreciate the detailed response! I agree re serato cheap sound card. Doesn't make sense given what I'm working with although I like the Serato interface. I'm thinking Traktor it is. I keep seeing rumors of V3in the pipeline. It does seem to be due for a bit of an upgrade.

Anyone else have any thoughts? User comments?

I've yet to upgrade to TSP2, still have TSP1 running on an xone 4d. when I got that software it was around AU$600 for the version to run with a certified mixer, TSP2 is only $150. I also have 2 cdj800mk2's, so still using timecode cd's in there but works fine.

Nice to see the mk2's still going strong. I lost a center indicator light on one years ago but no problems for me otherwise. Tanks.

I have mk2's as well! I have to say they're solid as fuck - Any of you that know me, know that I don't have much love for Pioneer, but they did truly nail some of the CDJ models, the 800's being one of them.

I've used Traktor with the 800's and honestly, it's flawless. In fact the reason I used it was that I often have to mix just in the headphones (i.e. no external volume or very low) and the control tone of on both traktor and serato, is so loud (just being picked up by the needle) that I can't use it.

In either normal or vinyl mode, the 800's work really well.

More good info!

I decided to upgrade my laptop as well. I'm gonna go Windows because I'm not looking to spend a ton and I just bought a mbp for work.

And agree re pioneer. When I bought them new in 2007 I believe it was, it's back when owning pioneer meant quality and not 1 year product cycles like they have now. It's crazy.

You'll like TSP2. Especially if you decide to venture into Remix decks and/or Stems.
