A&H:Xone 42 vs A&H: Xone 92

Hi!
I really need some help, im a DJ800 owner but i want to switch to Allen & Heath mixers 42 or 92.
I know that both mixers have their advantages and disadvantages.
For an ex, 42th has Send/Return , 92th dosent and its very complicated to hook with an efx, but instead it has a second mid knob and best filter.

What is your opinion , is the sound quality huge between this mixers?
What would you choose?

if money no object 92. 42 is probably better value for money though. 4 band eq and two filters make the difference there.

Kinda a tossup there... the fx send/return really IS bad on the 92, the 42 is great in that regards, and you get the USB soundcard to record your mixes (if that's useful for you).

Actually I would advise you to wait until after the 15th, because the NAMM show is on then, and typically new products will be announced.

I'd imagine A+H might have something new coming out.

I have a 92 and the EFX is not that bad. You just have to learn how to use it. I was hooking my EFX to my channel 4 and was using the crossfader to move to the EFX. The crossfader acts as a dry/wet control for the EFX.

What about a xone 62 vs 92? I really like the 4 EQs and the filters, but im not sure if there is a sound quality difference between these two.

Any ideas

--thanks

I haven't heard the 62, but I've been told the sound quality is nearly identical. Some people complain about the studio style faders though.

I have played on the 92, and while I love the mixer, it's pretty overkill in a home setup. IMO the 42 or 62 would be enough.

if so, 62 is also overkill.. i mean 62 isn't far away from 92, i would prefer it over the 92 for its sexy vintage look with those studio faders

Yes the 62 and the 92 are both 6 channel mixers and they have very similar features. I personally like the studio faders, and the price which is quite a bit less than the 92 (roughly half the price).

Yeah the 62 is overkill too. If I was buying a Xone, I'd buy the 32. It's not like any DJ on this forum can mix 4 decks anyway.

well, 62's cue option is a bit annoying for a lot of people, plus there is no headphone mixing mode
which is fine with me since i prefer monitors

and you'd be surprised how many talented DJs are on ta!
