im thinking about getting a pair of CDJ 800's. Is there anything better than them for about the same price that you would recomend over them?

for those that say that, what would make the 200 better than the 800?

it has a .02 pitch control unlike the 800 which has a .05

its has built in effects (which are GOOD).. MP3 compatibility (unless you get the NEW 800's... then its the same)..

Some (like myself) prefer to non Vinyl mode of the 200's.

Size..

all personal preference..

i would be getting the new 800's so mp3 isnt a problem and i dont care about size or effects and i would prefer Vinyl mode of the 800's. so 2 me at the moment the 800's r sounding better

i'd definitely take the sexy feel/control of vinyl mode over cheap effects and the .02 pitch. i think .1 is manageable, so .05 should be more than sufficient.

you could check out the denon dn-s3500, i think they're about the same price. or just the s3000. i've used the 3500 a little bit and i thought they were pretty impressive.

I agree, I have the CDJ800 and I like them. The 200's might have effects and .02 pitch control, but it's not the same feel. It's up to you, go to a store and give both a shot and decide from there.
Also, I don't think the CDJ800's are sold anymore, only the MK2's?

i jsut got the 800s and the .05 pitch control doesnt even come into question. every mix i have on them i dont need to keep adjusting the pitch. its a big difference as i was using direct drive KAMs for years and every mix i did the pitch had to adjusted constantly.

definately recommend them i wish i had of got mine sooner.

The 800s are probably your best bet, but check out the Denon 3500's just to be sure. They have a different feel.

i too had this question i while back i would personally go for the 200's i did and never looked back, im not saying they are better at all, but they have all the necessary features you need and more, pitch control is very accuarate and you save approx £180 per deck approx...

its up to you mate, id recomment the 200's, you could save the cash or spend it on a better mixer perhaps

The main advantage of the 200 is the .02 pitch adjustment. Be warned however: The 200 is kind of weird to use. The metal jog wheel is funky to the touch (slippery) and small, and when you select the .02 pitch adjustment, it's VERY finicky. It can be difficult to get it to land on the exact pitch you're looking for, and sometimes it will want to slip up or down to the next .02 of a percent.
