Traktor 2.8.1 Issues
Anyone having hot cue issues in CDJ mode using TSP 2.8.1? I noticed after you load a track into a deck, and select a hot cue it works fine. But if you stop the track (cue) via CDJ, and retake a hot cue, it jumps back two beats. it does this with every track. Has anyone dealt with this issue yet? any ideas of what it could be? I've talked to the NI support, and even sent them a video of the issue and no response.
Vinyl mode works fine though.

There's a lot of people fuming over at the NI traktor forums. 2.8.1 has still not fixed a lot of known issues, and a lot of people are saying the last truly stable build is 2.6.8.

I just joined the NI forum a few weeks ago. No one's loving 2.8 or 2.8.1 from what I've read. The crappy part of those versions is you can't surf the internet or open pdf files without the risk of audio drop outs. My other issue which is an issue with 2.7.3 is sometimes when you enter full screen mode the top of the screen go all white. Forcing you to close the app and restart. However, I do have to say the audio quality is amazing on 2.8.
Tech support finally got back to me. Says there's a bug in the update. According to some users this problem existed on 2.3. I guess they don't check their updates before releasing. Support told me to continue using 2.7.3. 2.6.8 is overall great, But those users still not on Mavericks have to upgrade since that version will no longer be updated on the Mountain Lion platform.
Thinking of giving Serato another try. The price tags is what pushes me away from them. Demoing Serato DJ to see if I like it.

Seriously, I'd love serato but I HATE that their hardware is worth maybe 50% of the sticker price. The SL1 isn't worth giving away anymore, the SL2 is only marginally better, then the SL3 and 4 are over $400-600 for a soundcard worth probably $200.
I just can;t understand why no one has hacked serato yet.

As I side note I am looking into getting Traktor DJ 2. Can you use the program by itself without hardware to make mixes (and export them to mp3)?

Don't know, I'm not a traktor expert on that part. I just use it as a DVS.

Can you record your mix? And do you have to mix it live, or can you line up a tracklist and just export it?
There is a record button in Traktor, its the cassette icon under the FX button but only works on the full versions of Traktor (not demo)and yes you have to mix it live.
