Sub bass and hearing loss

Hey all, So I saw Deadmau5 last night and man was the bass freaking

loud. I had ear plugs in but is that even enough? The sub was so loud

yet my ears didn't really even hurt afterwards...I know our ears are

not sensitive to those frequencies but there's still hearing loss

involved, right? What do you guys do when you go to shows or out

clubbing?
