i think both headphones are nice. i like the senn 280's because they are closed, the technics aren't far behind. as far as sound i feel the senn 280 are stronger in the mid low range while the technics are a bit more balanced.
meh, my ears aren't as mature as others in the sound quality department so...
i guess i'll be doing some research on a new pair of headphones. any recommendations for me to look into? i know there's a sticky, but dang it's too long to look through... |
it might be that the cable carrying the signal to the driver might be messed up, or something... maybe the solder joint is messed up. but it sounds like you phones are loosing contact.
before giving up on them, i suggest you try to find out if they are serviceable, (contact technics) and get a couple of quotes. if you don't feel the prices are reasonable (like $100) or something, then maybe you should try to take a part and fix it your self, or if you have a friend that knows how to solder, let him have a go with it. depending on how you decide to go about fixing the phones, i may have some supplies to send you. i have lenght of canare L-4E6s cable that has all the strands your need to fix the phones if you need to replace the wire. or if you decide to cut a length of cable from the where headphone plug is, i have both 1/4" and 1/8" stereo plugs you can use to resolder onto the cable.
