Piano...

I know that the Piano is the hardest to sample and there are some really good VST's out there that emulate a Piano well but...at the end of the day it just doesn't have that feel.
My goto has always been Bitsonic's Keyzone Classic but have also used Electric Keys from Karanyi as well as Salamander and native Ableton samples.
I know a lot of people use Kontakt but I don't want to go through that routine again like I had on my old rig
Any suggestions other than Kontakt plugs?

Spectrasonics Keyscape is awesome, but not very cheap. It also integrates with Omnisphere if you happen to own it.

TruePianos has been my other go-to for many years. It sounds great and is not very expensive.

A lot of people swear by Pianoteq, but it’s also pretty expensive. I don’t own it so I can’t vouch for it.

I have Pianoteq, my neighbour had a spare license. I think I have the K2 piano, Electric pianos, maybe one or 2 more packs. It is quite good. At least, I resort to it frequently.

To make them sound better I sometimes double them, slightly change the patches and layer it or pan them seperate ways to create a broader stereo image.

I honestly don't know if I can vouch for it as I haven't compared it to anything else in the DAW. The only other piano I have is F9 Old School Pianos pack which is absolutely phenomenal but not sold anymore as they set up the pack to only sell about 2000 copies I think.

Welp, I have been trying a couple of demo's out. Pianteq is the leader so far as the options of different types of tonalities you need based on type of piano is impressive. Still want to try the others out to

Thanks guys

Pianoteq usually has some good Black Friday deals, if you can wait a few weeks. This thread got me checking it out again and I may finally cave in and buy it this year, since there's really not much else on my BF radar.

The Pianoteq sale is on:

https://www.modartt.com/buy

I'm planning to buy the Standard version with a couple of extra packs.

Any suggestions on the best packs to buy for dance music? I'm having a hard time deciding, even though I've been demo'ing it for the past few weeks. I'm definitely going with the new Kawai and the Bosendorfer and probably the Petrof, but I'm thinking I'll add a few more while they're on sale. Between Lounge Lizard, Keyscape, and my Integra 7, I have all the EPs I need, so I'm planning to only get real pianos. You mentioned the K2 and I think I liked that one as well.

Edit: I got Pianoteq Standard with Kawai, K2, and Bosendorfer packs, then added the Petrof and Steinway Model D packs.
