For a long time I haven't produced any trance tracks and (who knows why) for some reason didn't feel like working on one till a couple of days ago when I spent a few hours working on this one piece of art - I know is short but I would like to know if I'm completely off the mark or there is something I can work with. Please let me know.

After a few months without producing I got back to it today and revisited this old unfinished one again.
I had a happy accident while producing which resonated with me personally so I tried venturing into a deep mix. Secondly I altered the original. I'm not sure yet how to fit in the lead guitar sound any better although I do like it.
Especially nice to get back at it after long periods off. Been around 3 months for me as well due to work...
Deep mix sounds nice and I dig the percussion. There's definitely a lot of potential there. Seems like you could even take it in a totally new direction, if you wanted.
Kick makes my walls go bzzz though...So based on all historical evidence, it's probably got an overabundance of low-end if it's making my setup go brrrrrrr.
Liking the original mix more, with what sounds like the piano more tucked away during stabby transition(s)...
Digging the additional melody towards the end...though I think the choice of sound doesn't fit in well, or maybe it's still in the process of being mixed in. Just sounds tonally out of place in relation to the rest of the mix and sticks out. Could also be too forward for what seems to me like passive/supporting melodic content. I do get what you're going for though...
I quite like that filtered delay at 2:50 too.

Yeah it's from some hiphop sample pack. I noticed on headphone too. The sample is insanely loud. Will see of I can do anything about it 😂
Not really an arrangement per se...but more of how the idea progressed in my sequencer during a sit-down. Usually how it goes, and if it's fun I'll arrange it later...and if not, it just goes in the bin.
Did spend a minute working on the mix, so if anything sucks then that's on me...Color me surprised though, soundcloud didn't absolutely butcher it for once, especially with a big'ish supersaw going on. Maybe not entirely happy with the way the sine-arps sit as is.
An arbitrary 98 BPM ended up being a pretty interesting tempo to work with for something trance-like. Seems like it elicits more of a heavy/bouncy type of energy. Definitely allowed a lot more interplay between the "superstabs" and the side-chain pump as well, I think.

Commenting as we go:
Great pads, interesting vocal, I don't always get what she's singing.
Nice shakers and sliding synth, I like how it gets more edgy when it plays longer notes.
When the kick and trance plucks come in it sounds really nice. It does feel too wide for me personally. That woody sound is awesome, lot it. The synth that comes after reminds me of typical trance sounds. The background arpy synth that is added is cool too.
Loads of variations to work into a full track.

Nice start. Feels like an intro tune to some album.
I think with this tempo I'd personally go for a softer kick, but in the palette of sounds it is in place.
I'm imagining some sfx to signal going into the break at the 1min mark. I like how the cutoff is opening, the synth is a good classic sound. The sfx thing goes for the introduction of the kick too.
The interplay with elements and kick pumping is a bit too much ducking for my liking.
Overall it has the trance feel without the tempo, good job
If less is more think about how much more more would be.

Appreciate the listen/response. Happy to not see "too much bass" for once, though it might be on the edge of too much bass still...Been something I've been working hard on fixing...
Intro to an album...An album...that could be a fun goal instead of just singles.
After listening on a few different formats, I'd agree about the kick...definitely room to dial it back.
Goal is/was, to try and do the bulk of the work on the mains, and hopefully do less work in cans and on sub-oriented system.
And for sure, when it goes to arrangement and I fine tune mix/instrument interplay and melodies...I'll add in all the fun transitions.
