Only Love by WOW was sampled by MARRS - Pump Up The Volume. Did WOW recreate all the sounds themselves or just contacted MARRS for stems? Any idea?

It's not really a remix though is it? They wouldn't need stems, it's just the first couple of seconds of the percussion sampled.

But sampling sounds exactly like original, how did they replicate 100% sounds?

What are you talking about?

They sampled the beats. The original extended version of Pump up the volume literally has 1 full minute of just that beat as the start of the track.

That's just a sequenced 4 bar loop on a roland 808. Way out West sped up the tempo but created everything else.
