You must have zero copyright strikes at the time you enroll (You would have received an email from us if you have a copyright strike. Learn more about our copyright policies.)
You must be a SoundCloud Pro or Pro Unlimited subscriber
You must have at least 1,000 eligible streams in the past month
Monetizable streams come from at least one of these eligible countries: US, UK, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Ireland, The Netherlands, New Zealand and any other territories designated by SoundCloud as eligible
Humans are listening to your tracks (bot streams will not be counted)

Sucks that you have to be somewhat established with the 1000 streams a month thing.

Interdasting.

It's basically a sub platform for established artists. They're trying to do what youtube did and tier the people who are already successful in to their own pool and skim some more money off it.

I assume labels are out of the question with regards to the first condition. Im still wraping my head around this, something seems off.

I feel like they should just follow the bandcamp model, with added distrbution services for a cut. But, a pay-wall for pro will detract from the whole thing so I dunno.

Well given that soundcloud is under real financial pressure and the bean counters are involved, they're trying to figure out who to take the most popular people, and get them to make money off the platform.

I think the stipulations are becuase (and I didn't know this until I looked it up) that SC has allowed certain organization to remove content directly off soundcloud that they feel is a copyright infrignement, Apparently universal has direct backend access themselves to SC and don't even need to involve SC to remove content. Bonkers.

Torrent freak apparently claimed that SC was offering this to several labels last year and it seems like an agreement to stop SC from ever gettng sued for infringement but the downside is probably tons of content got removed, and a serious reduction in hits/traffic to SC becuase of that missing content.
