The Rane 2015MP thread.
Anyone getting it? is it really traktor and serato certified?
Mine arrives tomorrow!
Hopefully it will replace my MP-2016s and DJM-900 (which I bought because the 2016 isn't portable).
Luckyyyy. Please let us know how everything works out and a review would be nice.
Congrats bro.

This mixer is the only one that makes me *think* about replacing my Vestax PMC 55's I want to hear from someone that owns it though. |

Just got it!
I spent about 30 minutes with it so far. This is the real deal.
The filters sound amazing, the adjustable resonance is amazing, the isolator with adjust crossover frequency is amazing... massive headroom.
The EQ and main pots are all metal stem, very high quality. A little looser than I'd like, but nothing unlike my MP-2016s.
It's working fine in Traktor on my Mac, but with scratch control disabled for my turntables (which we knew, it's not yet certified).
I can post more once I spend more time with it.
Very very pleased thus far.
Awsome Ryan, do you know if Rane plans on getting certified?

Fuck Ryan, your loft is bonkers. Good work and I'm glad to see someone build something from passion.
I'm a tiny bit disappointed to hear that it's all digital - I was hoping that only the soundcard output stage was digital but then again, if they've nailed the quality, I suppose that's all that counts.
Ryan, You don't need to wait for it to be certified - are you aware you can do a very simple hack to Traktor to give you scratch control?

If anyone wants to see/hear it LIVE, I'm broadcasting right now on Livegrooves.
Tune in, I'll be going until 8PM EST:

So fucking sweet. Amazing job Ryan. I bet you've had some epic parties in there. Grats on getting traktor to work. If only it was that simple with serato (I have a feeling it is, but no one has properly tried yet).
I missed the livestream though
I have to say dualSF do such a good job. Did the rane just drop right in there? Is it the same footprint as the 900?
Looks like you need to raise the rane by about 1/4 or 1/2 though. My OCD wouldn't allow it not to be flush lol
EDIT: by the way, how are you getting on with rotaries? I know you had the 2016 so I imagine it's never been an issue for you but I've always been a fader guy. There is a rotary kit for my PMC 55 but I've never bothered. What's your take?
Ace pics.

The Rane engineer said this mixer is designed to mix at +10! I guess if DJ's are going to crank up the gains anyway, might as well make the mixer work that way |

I just had DualSF build me the new mixer panel for the DJM-900, so now I can drop in my old panel for a 19"rack mount mixer, or this one for a 12" regular one. What really drives my OCD nuts is they used 5/8" plywood for the new panel when the old one was 1/2", so the new panel sits up about 1/8" of an inch and isn't flush. I've learned to deal with it. The booth is from 2008 and it's already seen a bunch of different gear and is in great condition. I love rotaries. You have more control, it's smoother, etc. This mixer is butter. With the filters, EQ's and the Isolator, plus it being rotary, it's very easy to mix smoothly and blend. Holy output on this thing. Hey Ryan have you tried other programs like Mixx, deckadence, mix vibes for absolute mode.
If you still have tractor 1 timecode lying around you can use Mixxx for free and run it smoothly with the rane i'm sure. Give it a try.
I haven't need to. I've been using timecode in Traktor just fine
Wow i want one.
Fuck, I had a bit of crazy house party for the missus birthday, but I realized that one of the upfaders is going on my PMC 55.
So it may be time to try the rotary set, but I'm worried I'll like it and get GAS for the Rane lol.
One thing I really love about the PMC is the two discrete master outs so one room can have one feed at one volume, and the other room can have the other. Does the rane have this? and by that I mean two volume controls, one for each master.
It's a bit different. On the Rane MP-2016s, there were two sets of master outs, an RCA set and a balanced XLR set. They were controlled by the same master knob.
On the MP-2015, you have only XLR outputs for the master, with a master control knob.
But, you have the versatile "Session Out" output set. You can plug in another zone there, and control the volume with the session output knob.
I'm also using session out for my "record out", since there isn't a separate "record out" on the back. If you use the USB soundcard to record, you can record your set on that (which isn't affected by the session out volume knob), but still use the RCA's to go to another zone.
