Small (tiny?) screen for use with serato?

So I'm going to get serato to use with TT's, but I HATE using the screen on my imac for the interface (looking at a screen kills the experience/fun/tactile relationship etc).

I've been looking at small USB powered screens, something like a 7" - I literally just want to display the track text info and be able to see the basic controls in case something is up.

So basically it's like using a small screen (like on a CDJ) just to load up the track. I Don't even need to see the waveform - I like to learn my music anyway.

Has anyone tried anything like this? I heard that there is a different screen setup (called something like "library") which just shows the basic info but I don't have serato to be able to check it.

Anyone? No one tried using a small screen with serato?

Have you tried the Serato Remote App? I think it lets you do that.

I think that's it Woody! I would have preferred if it was somehow native to an ipad (like you could connect serato interface directly to the ipad) but I think this does what I need.

Thanks!!!!

Buy an ips monitor and have it at very low angle. I would never use my laptop screen. This way it can be bigger, out of the way and easier to see with a glance.

I get the idea but they're too big for my needs. I literally just want to be able to load up a track.

To be honest, I don't even really want to use serato or traktor - it's simply a means to an end to allow me to play digital tracks via my TT's.

If there was a little black box that went between my decks and my mixer that let me put in a USB stick and had a basic LCD screen (like a calculator) to show me track info, I'd be happy with that.

I'm even investigating whether raspberry pi could do this.....
