Annoying Beatport****ty number
What the fuck is it with this fucking number that appears in the file name of any fucking track you download from Beatport.
I fucking hate Beatport for this reason but it was a couple of tracks I couldn't get anywhere else.
Anyone know how to get rid of the fucking thing??
Cheers
You can use the Beatport Downloader application to give you some control over how the files are named, including removing the catalogue number. It still doesn't give quite as much control as I'd like (for example, if you want to have artist, track, mix and label in the filename, you have to put the label after the artist), but it's definitely an improvement over downloading through your browser.
What the fuck does the file name matter?
The number in the file name makes no difference to me. I use the Beatport Downloader to download all of my newly bought tracks at once. Then U use mp3tag to get the metadata how I want it and automatically rename my mp3 files.
it's the track's id number in the beatport database.
Can't you just remove it in the files properties? Is it really that difficult?

No not a "newb"
Just wondering why the most expensive download store on the planet would require me to alter a file to make things easier....?
The number serves me no purpose. Why should I waste time changing it?
I want:
artist
track
How fucking hard can it be for the money grabbing ******s to alter?

HTFRD
Finally someone has actually done something about this...

They're cheaper than Juno on WAVs. Plus, they do AIFFs and FLACs.
You can also listen to any part of the track unlike Beatpoor. They have good range of genres, better than Juno even, at least the set the genres on track level rather than blanketing a release as dubstep when there's drum & bass tracks on there.
Not only that, they also let you set how your tracks are downloaded. So rather that a random sequence of numbers (Beatpoor), you can have artist, title, label, year, genre & BPM in any fooking order!
I know this post above is just spam, but I always liked Hard To Find Records; they were nice guys to deal with (even if they were Brummies ) and I got a few records from them that I literally couldn't find anywhere else, and they were always upfront about the condition of the vinyl.
Depending on their online selection, I may give them a try.....
