Originally posted by djnitride Look into utilizing rhythmic progressions of backing pads/bassline more to to support your melody when you want to make it count. Can really give emphasis to an area of a track when you drop the progression. Good example: http://youtu.be/6EVx0HQNC9k?t=4m5s |
haveing a break from the other tune so il post the other im working on
what books are good for learning to master? as im horrible at it
Nice, I'm liking that clip Mr. Oakenshield. The kick has a nice thump to it and overall you have a good mix down.

thanx people i have not been producing long so im muddling along with things.
il go back to it Monday as weekend is football time
il work on my transitions but im learning as i go i know what i want to do but i dont have the skills to do it yet but i will get it right soon enough.
maybe i should add 16 bars to the main drop to build down then break for the second time but keeping the baseline in and some of the perc.
then have only 1 mini drop to go into the transition for outro sound about right?
some reverb on the drums for the main break down while cutting the low on the kick and fade out.
i do use delay on the vox on the drop but this is where i need to improve

Originally posted by evo8 yeah not bad, its missing something for me, maybe in the kick/bass area - it sounds a bit flat there or something, i think a punchier style kick would work better - something with more midrange |

Welp, got a new pair of monitors and trying to get adjusted to them. This is the first demo track Im working on. Production tips always appreciated!
thanx for the feedback i aint kiddin when i said im new trto this im a dj that had a stroke who is now trying to produce.
only been doing this a few months and i basicly have stock ableton vstation and diversion + some free vst!
need to find some good delay/reverb vst's!
scorpradio
i like ur track but on my setup the kick is very muddy (50 second mark) and hard to hear (2x 18"Cab units on 1k rack amp) but it might just be me!
il set about making changes tomorra!
If you can afford it get Valhalla Room for reverb. Sounds fantastic and is extremely versatile. Pretty much covers all bases as far as reverb is concerned, IMO. There is a demo version available so you can listen for yourself. Reason I love it is because it sounds extremely natural, it just blends into the track perfectly.
For delay there are plenty of free plugins out there that will do the job just fine, but Ableton should come with one I would think.

Originally posted by Richard Butler This is a good track all round mate, really enjoyed it as it washes over me. I don't find the bass too thin, I like this sort of more unusual bass line and sound. Nice to hear a track that does not rely on glitch and mangled stutter leads which are just everywhere now. |

Originally posted by Richard Butler Quite a catchy quirky melodic line you got goin on. Mix wise, for me it's a bit fried egg sizzling on the hi's, but others might like that. |
What monitors are you using scorp?
Remix of Infernal - Sorti De L'enfer I'm working on...I'm just about done with it, but here's a clip anyways. Oldschool pizzicato type stuff.
