Is that the flag of St.Andrew I see hanging on your wall? That's some size of a bedroom you have. Lucky shite.

haha, yes, yes it is...I'm a first generation America, and all my relatives aside from my siblings are Scottish, thus the flag. Its a massive bedroom, and I had to wait about 7 years to get it (when my brother moved out to attend Uni, which I will very shortly be doing myself). That subbuteo table is huge, and theres still plenty of space to move around it, with two desks and a double bed already in the room.

ad0nis: cheers man, it does the job!

I have sold most of my old hardware to finance the new monitors, but I have kept a couple of digital PCM synths and recently added a Roland JD-800! I think I'm going to stick with the vintage hardware route for the time being.

The full studio

The JD-800

MOTU 24 I/0, MOTU MIDI Express, Presonus Central Station, Korg Triton Rack, Roland JV-1080

Apple Mac Pro, Muse Research Receptor, Secondary audio PC

I think i'm gonna do the same with my desk and lose the top shelf for now dude, will give me a lot more space for mixer etc

I used hardware until 99 when I switched from Logic to FL studio (aka Fruityloops) and later on started to invest into Virtual Synthesizers at about year 2000 I think. Today I have this modest setup, but dont be fooled, think ive spent 6000€ on software together (with hardware included). I hate dual monitors so I got myself a 24" WS instead.

Computer: AMD X2 4600+ 3Gb RAM
Speakers: Behringer TRUTH B2030A
Soundcard: CME Matrix K
Microphone: AKG Perception 200
Controller: Edirol PCR-M50

I checked out your website. I think the production quality of your tracks could be improved with better monitoring. The tracks you have on your website sound good though, must say that as well ! I really dig some of the concepts you have on there, great stuff!

Auto-tune is not cool.

Kids, get a proper vocalist instead.

Today is about getting famous with as little effort made as possible and with todays technology, your juvenile neighbour could be downloading synthesizers where he pops pre-made compressed samples in fruityloops because its cool when Basshunter does it.

I get emails all the time from people telling me to check out their site, or people promoting their websites on forums and such, and I always check them out!

But 90% of the time it's half-assed tracks molested with Auto-tuning, only because people cannot be arsed to either learn to sing properly or get a good vocalist.

So if you want me to check out your website and you overuse auto-tune along with your illegal vengeance samplepacks, dont bother. I hate it and I hate you.

Explanation of Auto-tune

Pretty bold statement there

Posted by Storyteller on Jan-11-2009 11:32:

Yes, good laugh. I understand where he's coming from though .

Posted by Sinnica Hax on Jan-11-2009 11:32:

Storyteller, thanks alot. Not sure what you mean, I like to keep my tracks simple if that's what you mean by production quality, the kbps is also rather low on these samples on my website.

Ry Thomas, I'm sorry, what do you mean by bold statement? Anyway, the overusage of Autotuning from swedish bedroomproducers is redicolous and i am sick of it. It's bad enough that we have to put up with Basshunter in this damn country, and the 20.000 teens that follows his trails by doing the same crapmusic. Perhaps you dont have that problem in your country, perhaps I should edit the blogpost where it says swedish producers then

Posted by Storyteller on Jan-11-2009 11:37:

It just sounds like some tracks could have been eq-ed a bit tighter so there would be a bit better seperation of sounds. But thats just a minor remark. It could be due to the mp3 quality of some tracks. Who knows.

Posted by Sinnica Hax on Jan-11-2009 11:38:

Thanks, mastering is not my strong side.
Is there any track in particular you think of? The ones pre-2008 I can totally understand, sadly I dont have those arrangement files left due to a crash that caused all my tracks from 8 years back dissapear into the void. But I have still decided to have them there because they mean something to me.

Bold statement that was all

Posted by Sinnica Hax on Jan-11-2009 11:53:

This is reality amongst young producers in Sweden to be honest, piracy i dont give a shit about, its todays technology. You will have to excuse me for being semi-retarded though but I still dont quite understand what the sentence "bold statement" means. This is just my opinion, perhaps I came out a bit harsh or what? I dont want to stop saying what i feel only because im a producer and want to get "out there" with my music.
Sorry for not knowing english so well

Posted by Ry Thomas on Jan-11-2009 11:56:

Don't get me wrong dude, i'm not having a go or anything

I was just saying it was a bold statement(from my point of view), i don't know the affairs of producers over your end so i couldn't comment further, obviously you are entitled to your point of view

Posted by Sinnica Hax on Jan-11-2009 11:59:

My apologies, Ry. I wasnt meant to sound aggressive or anything, I just wanted a clarification. It's the whole digital label explosion along with the ease of access to these things on the internet amongst new producers that make quality become so mediocre, again, I encourage new people to start making music, thats the upside of internet i suppose, as more people can learn the art of music and express themselves throughout music. But all I hear from people who promote their sites to me is autotune and gabberkicks along with arp-presets from Nexus.

Sorry to spam the Homestudio thread about this, Ry (or others) who wish to discuss this, I have a thread towards my site on the Promotionforum HERE

I will make a post on the website today to clarify what i mean, i follow technology, unlike the record companies who thinks raising the prices of cd's will decrease piracy ^^

Regards, Fredrik.

This last Statement sounds as bold as the previous one, but in a way you're right, many major companies and their employees who get thousands of $$ a month have no clue. They're just sheep following directives. But the dance music industry is far from doing this. We're different people after all. We have families, sometimes children, and we all have thousands of stuff to do in a week besides listening to music. This is why I judge your statement "bold".

Don't make yourself a global opinion of everyone like it seems you are doing now, or you will end up extremely frustrated, especially if you want to make a living out of music, which is far from easy nowadays. For the info, I get like 15 000 $ of royalties in a year, and something like 5000 $ with gigs. 20 000$ average a year. Not even enough to pay my taxes (38% in my country) sometimes, so I have to sell stuff. Fortunately I'll have soon other sources of income.

Posted by Sinnica Hax on Jan-12-2009 15:04:

It's a blog, I was hoping to post my own opinions there just as I respect others opinions, eventhough I dont agree with them. But due to all the controversy here on TA I erased those posts. The last thing I want to be painted up as is an asshole. At least I got myself a tracktitle for my newest production which went to promotion today, which is something good out of all this mess. And all this talk about money, I dont give a shit about money in this industry - its a bonus, my working passion lies in Healthcare.

Regards, Fredrik.

Posted by Sinnica Hax on Jan-12-2009 18:58:

I'm sorry, do you mean my site? This is the light-version, the full one will arrive next week if everything goes as planned and will contain all the links you just mentioned.

EDIT: fuck it, ill go back to licking record labels and DJ's ass

Most likely not, im sure people grow too old at a certain point.

Posted by Zak McKracken on Jan-12-2009 21:04:

one might grow out of trance thats true but i doubt true enthusiasts like airwave will grow out of music in general, i know i never will. actually it only gets more important to me it seems as other things is getting more and more boring, music is the one thing i always come back to.
