The expanding process has started, I got my audiofire12 today , so time for pictures!

* Old amd2500+ pc. Quad core arriving tomorrow
* old evolution midi keyboard

* A little behringer monitor mixer. I hate it but it's handy for the headphone.
* Echo audiofire12 (fucking great beast )
* Behringer ultrapatch for future gear and additions. Already handy now with some routing stuff.

cdj800's with an ugly behringer mixer.

Soon more expanding to be expected. New pc tomorrow, probably a synth in about a month or 3 and dynaudio air6's after summer.

You might want to put your monitors upright. Having them lying down isn't recommended unless they're designed to lie down.

^^
Heheh, sorry about the EXTRA large images but trust me i know, they're meant to be used this way!

Grolsch factory was in Enschede (where I live half of the time) for years. It's been moved to a town near Enschede now where they have a new factory. Good beer I like

One more update. New Mac, new desk, additional monitor... I'm done with the room for now - next purchases will likely be software.

Yep- can get some interesting sounds out of it using that.

I also have a VL1 VSTi - exact, and I mean exact copy of it sound and function wise...even down to the calculator function and the ADSR...guess they must have ripped direct from the chips or something.
Some nice evil bass sounds come from that..

We have to keep this thread alive..

I havenīt posted a pic yet, so here goes. I moved into a new house last year, and havenīt been able to get things organized properly. And the only acoustic treatment I have so far are two small bass traps in the front of the room, and large one in the back. Iīm planning on doing some extensive work to this room later this year, so Iīll post a pic when Iīve done that.

btw, sorry for the crap quality.. Itīs taken with my mobile cam.

Beyer, how do you like your focal twins? Are you happy with them?

Posted by Beyer on Apr-13-2008 22:00:

I'm really pleased with them, even though I haven't burned them properly in yet. I have to say that they sounded pretty dull at first, but they have started to open up really nicely now.
I haven't been mixing alot with them, but they are ultra revealing, and just a pleasure to work with. Listening to enya and hi quality recordings gives me goosebumps.
As these are my first monitors, I don't have anything to reference to, and I bought these just based on my prior experience with focal speakers, and the massive positive reputation they have got in the pro audio community.
But I had a really tough time choosing them over the dynaudio bm6, adam p11, the solo 6, k&h O110 and a few others. But I feel I made the right choice.

I have to say for your first pair they are an excellent choice! They are much better than the BM6A (my last pair) & ADAM P11's.

I was deciding between the Focal Twins & the K+H O300 & i finally went with K+H as they seemed to get rated slightly higher in most reviews.

@ nec

The RME Fireface 400 is rock solid, no complaints there! I'm really happy with it, though i might upgrade to a Benchmark DAC1 or Lavry DA10 in the future for D/A conversion.
