Epic tune. Loved it. Good work

trancelover I like the melodies, clean bass and percs but I'd say clap could be a bit loud (especially at low volume on my pc speakers)and I did think perhaps you can emphasise the warmth in the pads a bit as it's a little shrill - but as ever this is a taste call so not objective and thus feel free to ignore me, old chum.

Cool track! Really enjoyed that, very fresh sounding loved the melodies. Only thing i can say is that in places it sounds like there is either too much reverb or else that clap(or white noise thing sounding in the back) is a bit too loud might make it sound tighter if you lower or eq that, great track tho

New track here would be great to get some feedback, starts off a bit techy then into trance ,nice one

Great picece! To my ears it sounds lil squished by compression/maximixzing though. Just a lil too loud mb.

This stuff is still solid!

As xmas is around the corner and home with family and all that jazz, i had some time too play around and today i got started with this. Just a short loop, as put together today, but how does the mix sound so far?

Giuseppe Ottaviani style.

The track is too monoish. Spread it out, open it, make it breath. Low end is ok.
Adjust the attack of the pad. Is too abrupt and noticable.

But you definitely got a sense of a rhythm. And that's not a detail. Is actually the foundation of any edm producer who aspires to become something. You can be the best engineer/mixer, but without that it remains aesthetics.

Cheers man might be pushing it too hard will look at that nice one

Liking your track, very short loop to really comment but the mix sounds good so far

Good melodic elements (lovely little background arp), but no deep bass freqs and the sidechaining is overdone.

Thick, powerful foundation! Nice transitions too. The trance bits are a little generic in their composition maybe but it's a nice kind of generic and nothing embarrassing. The clap is too silent for my taste when things get going.

Volume balance between hats and bass is a little off (hats too loud). The introduction of melodic elements could be either less sudden or more accentuated, right now it just kinda happens. That clap is pretty ballsy, but it works! Sub bass is there, but then there's a frequency hole in the lower mids. I feel like the song structure takes out more energy than it puts in. There are relatively frequently bits with no driving force. The main melody is nice, but not super nice Climax sounds a little washed out maybe? Overall cool!

The vocal sample right now is just irritating... if you want to give the song a speech hook, you may need to focus one one memorable bit and make that more distinguishable perhaps, not play it so continuously? It's kind of hard to listen "around" the speech, but I think I like the percussion you have. The breakdown feels like the tune is ending, maybe you can start the buildup to the next bit while you're fading out and not after everything is gone (if there IS a next bit)? When the piano sets in, it's like a completely different track. The whole atmosphere is different, reverb space, bass character, melodic feel etc. The low line without the top does not work. Not sure what exactly you're doing there at the end

This has many nice bits that don't seem to have much to do with each other It feels more like a soundset demo than a real track because you keep restarting and building up very quickly. There's no time for the listener to build expectations that you then can fulfill or subvert to create emotion. Melodically, you're quite solid. Maybe you could check for repeating notes in your synth lines and try to do something else with them - filter, phase, length, octave...

Cheers for the comments dude. I know what you mean saying its generic as when you make a simple enough progression with a pluk it can sound that way! Still have a lot of work to do on the break was just getting the general layout of it going. Will check out the clap, nice one

really nice track man. Something about the mix tho doesnt sound quite right to me, sounds a little bit "closed", maybe too much compression/limiting, im not sure

kick sounds a bit light to my ears

Posted by Domesty on Dec-22-2013 00:12:

Okay here is some rework and some off the initial arrangement. Is the kick/bass any better? Im usually very scared of widening my subs, which is propably why my low end lacks.

obviously i need to layer it more "moving" but does it now have kinda lows? prob too much reverb but try to work on that.

Sorry if its too quiet. I didnt max it properly yet.

[and sorry for double posting the wip will post the completed one next time]

its just missing some lows still - rest of the mix is nicely done
try increasing the tail on the kick (if you can) - otherwise u might need a new kick
