hey man- i wasnt being rude or sarcastic in my last post- was a bit stressed due to stuff- sorry if i came across that way.

Just making the point that the denon is a very good cd player as is the pioneer.Dont expect it to radically affect your mixing- they are both professional grade cd players and with the exception of the platter arent a hellof a lot different- they do the same basic job.
Too many people see eqpt as the be all and end all of mixing and becoming a good dj. They are merely tools- the most important thing is how they are used and the techniques.

As for my opinion- well as i said, im used to denons- but i agree the 9000 has loads of features which to be honest i would never use- but should i ever need to use them, then it would be nice to have them.

just my 2 euros worth

Suggestion.... Just use some black wiring tape (about 3/4" wide) cut to cover the BPM counters....that's what I do on my VMX300.

Posted by diesel0 on Nov-30-2003 23:50:

I need to do the same... I keep peeking at the Counters every now and then, they are just there!!!! AHHHHHHRUHR!!! *gets some electrical tape*

How do you like that mixer? I was considering one of those...

Posted by DeleriuM2K on Dec-09-2003 19:35:

My setup just went from this:

to this

(the lighting sucks so the mixer looks really wierdly coloured)

my work offered a deal I couldnt refeuse for that mount (Pioneer DJM3000, Denon DN-D9000, Furman power console). Plus they offered me an amazing deal on a pair of CDJ800's. So I made the deal, but now Im stuck with my old mixer (Behringer VMX300). So next month Im grabbing one of these:
The Denon DN-X1500

Posted by The Don on Dec-09-2003 21:48:

Anyone know when this gets a UK realese cos it looks like a pretty decent mixer, function wise but Id like to test it first..

If you look at the bpm counters while you mix in the dark (like a club,) it starts to mess up your retina, and you will eventually go blind.

Posted by DjJade on Dec-10-2003 00:11:

^^ lol

they cover it up becuase they want to train their ears. seeing bpm is "cheating" but the main use of it if there are built in effects is timing for the effects.

and no tney dont mess up your retina or even your nightvision for that matter [thats why they have red lights in film rooms etc and it is also why the strobe light on a turntable is(was)red]
