Welcome Glad to see you all like it I've made up my mind on the monitor question and going to order bm5a's any day now. Haven't done music in very long time and I'm eager to get started again when everything's setup.

I'm 30 this year. Started at 14 years old if I remember correctly.. Got my first hardware at 15 - almost 16.. and ever since been doing this as a hobby.. Sold most of my hardware synths by 2000 (some analog some digital. I owned about 23 of them from Juno 106 to moog,303, 909,808 and in between ), and other toys.. In 2000 took a little brake, and by the end of the year got a yamaha cs6 and some other stuff. That changed again in 2004, when the studio got a complete overhull.. The studio as of now took me 2.5 years to complete. That was rather slow, but it's diefferent when your older, and have to pay bills home, car, food internet and other crap.. Best time to get gear, is when living with parents and not paying rent and stuff

The first two pictures are back in 96' and the two new ones are studio as today. The only new thing that i've changed lately is: I moved the computer to another room, and run the cables thrue the wall. So right now there is no computer noise at all. Totaly quiet

Here's a pic of my home studio

Here's more pictures and info about the gear:

Posted by aquila on Jun-07-2006 10:12:

Ok I'm kinda over these "artistic" shots now. All I can see is black with red dots. Nothing studio-like there. (No offence Drik)

Posted by Drik on Jun-07-2006 11:11:

Hehe, check the link mate, there's a normal light shot there
I have an alternate lightning too with more normal low light lamps, I'll grab a few shots with those on tonight

Posted by Drik on Jun-07-2006 11:35:

Ah what the hell, I'll put em all up here:

Here's a nightshot of the studio. Virus C in the middle below the screen, to the left is a Korg Kaosspad2 for effects.
To the right of the Virus is a guitar amp, the Line6 Pod XT. Below the Virus are three rack units. AMT8 for midi interface,
below that is a TC electronic D-TWO delay unit and at the bottom I have the Yamaha MOTIF ES unit.
Right of the three rack units I have the Native Instruments KORE, that I use for controlling everything.
Left of this I have a Mackie Onyx 1220 mixer that I use as a submixer for my soundcard, the EMU 1820m.
Hidden in the darkness behind the main apple cinema 20" wide screen I have a pair of Genelec 8040A monitors.

Here's a shot placed just above my Nordlead 3 synthesizer that overlooks my main work area. Above this synth is
my new Roland JP-8000, works wonders with energetic leads.

Here's a shot overlooking the whole homestudio. Hidden in the dark above where the lava lamp is are two
synths, a Waldorf Micro Q and Novation Supernova. Also, hidden in the dark below the synths is a
Fender Stratocaster that I rarely play. However I plan to make more use of it ;o)

On the other side of the room is my chillout corner, with a nice comfy couch that isnt on the pic.
The big box with the round blue led is a airconditioner that keeps the room cool, great for hot summers.
To the right is my samsung 32" lcd tv that I have hooked my xbox360 and Sony Playstation2 in.
I also will be adding a nice Red Bull minifridge in the left corner where I'll keep some
Red Bull, vodka and beers, great for inspiration ;o)

Here I'm sitting in the couch with a beer in my hand, just about to play some xbox360 with my friends.

I was tempted to take a shot behind the gear so you'd see all the roughly 80 cables I've hidden,
but I'll leave you with this instead. Wouldn't want to give you nightmares on my last pic ;o)

we all know how a 17 inch monitor looks, so i don`t have to show a picture of that.
and we all know how "fast" an intel 1.9 is.
so no pictures of my "setup" hahaha
have two speakers with a nice sound :-)
and i live near a school for little kids, very entertaining view.
going to mis them in summer :-)
just as i will mis one of their moms, who i like to see when she`s coming to pick up her kid.
but my view is also on her house, so i don`t have to mis her completly :-P

and for the kids, the school is also a daycare in vacations, hahaha
so that`ll be allright :-)

i think the most important thing of your setup should be love

Posted by Jason_R on Jun-08-2006 19:53:

Drik I'am loving them blue lights all over the place they look amazing. Have you got any more info on them?
