Sorry mate

I meant it's a bit tightly compressed and thus sounds a little too in yer face for this style IMO

Otherwise a decent sound mate

For me there's an interesting overall pallet around 3.09-3.11 where I get a glimpse of how this could sound a nice deep house type track

Not sure if you know what I'm getting at

Something like this?

I had in mind the rhythmic feel that is present in the little snippet I mentioned, but anyhow you do whatever floats your boat.

How about this version? I've ditched the bass, changed the kick and added some simple hihats

Posted by SystematicX1 on Feb-24-2019 23:29:

It isn't that this is bad, I believe it just needs a different "swing". Personally, I wouldn't have removed the bass but rather changed it up a bit by adding some kind of break beat. Take that and a revolving bass line and I believe this would be a beautiful chill piece

FYI: Not trance but this and KVR are pretty much the only music forums I visit these days.

This sounds really cool man, the only thing that maybe bothers me is a bit unexpected decrease of volume of that stabby thing (at 20 sec and 36 sec).

A glorious avangarde (sp) sound

I'm trying to get good at deep house. Any good?

Need to add fx etc

I just upgraded my Izotope Elements to Standard Edition so (hopefully) I can make better masters now but the volume differences there are just lazy MIDI programming on my part. I actually couldn't hear the differences on my >20 year old Sony Walkman earbuds I was using, but when I listen on my iMac's internal speakers it is quite apparent. Also need to find better snare samples but I will keep that thing going where the snare changes every 2 bars. It grooves better like that. I've experimented with using the same snare throughout versus alternating snares.

I like this, nice melodies, it's more progressive house than deep house imo, anyway, who cares about genre

Posted by gordan100 on Mar-05-2019 01:08:

It's a bit low in volume so you need to crank it up a bit. I had some ear piercing from listening this, not sure if it's still a problem.

I thought volume decrease was on purpose at first .

It has a lot of potential. I hope you will finish it

Yeah definitely going to keep working on it. This is probably my most promising track because I never get sick of listening to it. My other tracks make me cringe after the umpteenth listen. Have nfi how I am going to ever perform it live though as I can’t play flute to save my life.

Got all the house prerequisites: solid kick, claps, hats, etc. For me the track didn’t really begin till 1:33. Should try flipping it so 1:33 is the intro and then you break it down into minimal elements like in the original intro, then introduce some really soulful vocal, and then the other elements again. But it’s good you dable with dark drum n bass as well as house and trance and shiet.
I think perhaps since I listen to a lot of pop now I'm expecting the chorus or most catchy elements right away.

My jazzy track is s’posed to have a vocal as well, singing, “I looked into your eyes & deep into your soul”, but I haven’t found her yet. I might try singing the line myself and vocode it (cause my voice is nasally sucky) so I can convey what exactly I am trying to produce.

I started listening to Aphex Twin again. The guy is still producing new stuff but it is becoming apparent that he sticks strictly to his brand of dark electronica. You guys should check out Billie Eilish’s music. Fuck I am jealous of her. Only 16 and churning out some of the best songs already.

Oldschool sounds, your mixing skills have gotten better with the years. I don't know what else to say about it, this really isn't my thing...

---

So... I recently moved into a new place on national tv. I gave up most of the home studio before moving as I'm a father of 2 now. After moving into the new place it did not take long to find out a neighbor has so much more than I've had on my own. It didn't take long to team up . My first serious WIP in many years.

Rhodes (real one), Moog, shakers and some perc manually recorded.

Thanks for listening, i'm not happy with this either, posted it just to keep thing going.

This wip of yours is lovely. Sounds nice and soft on ears. I'm sure we will hear more nice things from you now when you have access to machinery again Congrats for the kids!

I don't know if you're able to view this. I got a notification email saying it was removed due to a copyright violation. But I can still watch it:

I just sat my raver bear on a chair making lights go psychedelic to Katy Perry's 365.

This is basically just me, maniacally waving a UV light torch, on Raver Bear--What's that? Raver Bear says, his name is "Cowbear".

"Cowbear!"

🤦🏻‍♂️

I've noticed that Paulino guy is addicted to Fallout.

The quintessential chase music. Yakety Sax was composed by James Q. "Spider" Rich and Boots Randolph. This a WIP. I have unsaxed it & intend to make it more Country EDM Fusion!
