Originally posted by Seandroid Decent enough edit, definitely a more "modern" arrangement. I started this new little thing... it's fun. I experimented with using shepard tone for risers. IDK what will become of it or whether I'll keep the big room drop, but we'll see. I did a neat little trick in the build, the main riser aside from the shepard tone is the reverb tail from the saws resampled and pitch bent |

Originally posted by Trancelover03591 It is a pretty trance/psy specific track, but that is just a genre preference thing. Overall sounds great to me. |

Hey guys. I'm in a hurry so I will comment later.
I need some help with this bassline I'm working on. Appreciate your thoughts before I continue with the mixing. I know there is some masking by the Whitenoise after the break. From 1:25 is the most important part and where I need your ears and skills.
Thanks.

Originally posted by evo8 i quite like that, has a late 90s kinda feel to it the low bassline, you could probably bring that up a bit - its slightly clashing with that mid-bass saw sound, from 0 to 26 secs you can hear that bass better, not so much after that so you would need to manage that problem... |
yeah, the first version is actually better :-p
by closing off the lowpass on the lower bass you effectively pushed it back in the mix instead of bringing it forward
but the first version is pretty good - you can end up destroying a mix by tweaking it too much (been there done that)
I don't think it's possible (at least not with my limited knowledge) to bring it forward more. That sawbass takes up a hole lot of space and I can't compromise to much on that.
Yeah it's pretty easy to get carried away and destroy the mix. It's frustrating though when you hear things that you're not satisfied with but can't find a solution.

Originally posted by Juan Paulino Yea. Any feedback would be generous. |
Here's something I'm working on that I'd like to get some feedback on. This preview isn't an arrangement yet, I just threw together what parts I had without any transitions or song structure.
What I'm looking for is feedback on whether it's unique enough - after the initial session I suddenly noticed that it felt a bit like I had unconsciously replicated a specific track (although I couldn't say which one).
And if you have any other, more general feedback (on sound choices, composition, whatever ), that's very welcome too!
wayfinder - thrillipreview by wayfinder
Thanks for listening!
edit: oh yeah the reason why it's called thrillipreview is that i made the drums almost completely with the preview pack from the new thrillseekers samples from freshly squeezed

Wayfinder it's perfectly acceptable but if you want it unique you need to focus on 1 or 2 critical personality stamps and strip it down a lot as it's quite a big wash of sound. At the moment it would be like music in a film with someone driving if you get me. Fine if that's your aim btw.
Trance, some PSY elements as well
simple, but i think it works
