thanks for the comments. i agree it is a little crammed, but, most of the time i only have the one cdj, so there is plenty of room on the table. oh and i like battle style (it's super common around here), and it leaves the smallest foot print.

my wall mounts are Vogel's VLB 200s. I reccommend them for the RP5s.

Nice set up, but i'de get a longer, folding table if I were you. That way you can have it all set up and wont risk having your CDJ 200 fall and break....or get some type of stand for it, unless your planning to get a second one, then you will definitely need a new one. Love that mixer, I'm planning to go for an Ecler Nuo 4 for my next mixer probably, don't think I need 5 channels but that mixer is sweet looking.

Haha I didn't read that...oops, but that CDJ 200 still looks like it's going to fall off and break...but at least it's not a CDJ 1000 MK2/M3, that would be even more devastating ($1,000 each!). But yeah if he didn't have that CDJ 100 in there, it would be fine I see...

More pics to follow, vinyl etc.

Posted by T-Soma on Jul-16-2006 12:19:

I didnt know people used cdjs in battle style?

Im just kidding. I know someone read that and was waiting to jump in and spread their knowledge of battle setups.

Tried that, it just hangs off the edge!

Added a Kaos Pad 2

Been a while since I last uploaded a pic of my setup, and I've since added a Kaoss Pad 2. The Kaoss is fun, integrates nicely with the Xone's midi support, and wasn't too pricey. I'm not a big effects user, so it's just enough for me (though an EFX-1000 was very tempting).

Hardware:
2 x Technics 1200 MK5's w/shure whitelabel carts
2 x Pioneer CDJ-1000 MK2's
1 x A+H Xone 92 Rotary
1 x Kork Kaoss Pad 2
1 x Sony MDR-V700 headphones
2 x KRK Rokit RP5 monitors
1 x KRK Rokit RP10s subwoofer

Nice and clean. Though until I tried rotary I don't think I'd want it. I love my linearness.

Posted by Ryan0751 on Jul-16-2006 14:10:

Yeah I'm working on getting the vinyl off the floor and onto some sort of shelving setup. Running out of space though.

And rotary is the best

(of course it's all preference)

yeah i love my rotary xone.

Posted by Events@Spec on Jul-16-2006 17:31:

I honestly don't like the xones rotaries. They feel cheap and are too cramped together to pull some leet carl cox moves on them

Posted by Ryan0751 on Jul-16-2006 21:17:

$130 per penny & giles pot, and you think it feels cheap? Are you on crack? I've played on a Urei 1620, a Rane MP-2016, and the Xone feels
just as rugged if not more so. You can pick up the entire mixer by one of the rotary pots. Try that on a Pioneer "rotary kit".

Sure it's a little more cramped, but it does a hell of a lot more, and I don't have big hands anyway.

Class A setup Ryan, congrats on that. Very tasteful are the surroundings, nice

Posted by ohmegah7 on Jul-16-2006 22:45:

yes...very impressive Ryan0751.
i've just about completed my new set-up.
2 CDJ-1000mk3
A&H Xone:92...linear
a tech 1210
PVDJ grabber
and i may get the efx-1000, though am wondering how that will work out
i also have denon dn-6000's, which are cool, but they fuck up during periods of high volume, but i really like the onboard effects.

Re: Added a Kaos Pad 2

How do you like the big KRK subwoof and the RP5s?? Loud enough for a house party too?

Re: Re: Added a Kaos Pad 2

Yeah it gets pretty loud, though I do have the mixer running into my regular stereo system in the other room as well.

Makes for a good party

Nice room Liam ... pretty much the same thing I want to do to my room. Is that a futon/bed on the right of your decks? Can you please take a pic from where the TV is and from where your couch with the camo pillow is. =)

Iv never used an Xone but im sure they are incredibly nice to use.
Yet, its important you dont just judge things by their price. In the production forum there was a nice thread about overpriced cabling.

Nordost Valhalla interconnects cost £2000 sterling for a 3 metre run

On topic though...
These setups are making me jealous
You Americans get cheap prices

$1099 a piece.

Posted by Psiweaver on Jul-17-2006 13:28:

nordost's are expensive but there are ones that are more like audioquest extreme sky, shunyata cables, etc.
