Thanks guys.

Originally posted by evo8 a bit dry no? could do with some nice reverb imo - the sound is very mid heavy as well, i think it could do with some cuts in the low-mids |
about the piano, i prefer second version it does not sound very natural tho.
Are you playing a midi piano or placing the notes manually? just curious i hope it's the first because seems ellaborated. If you want to add some realism use some slight reverb and stereo delay on the full record or at some parts. Real piano players use the right pedal to add some reverb at some points so you should too.
I drew every note in the piano roll. There is a lot of velocity variation. The humanized version has MPC 16 swing on it, which makes it a little less rigid but I'm still trying to work on getting the sound more realistic. I haven't experimented with stereo effects too much because I wanted to get the composition and so forth timed to where it sounds live. I know it won't ever sound performed live because they're just drawn MIDI notes, but just close enough that the average listener can't tell the difference.
I'm going to work on notching out some of the big mid and low frequencies, processing, and delay/reverb to make it sound more presentable.
L4C, where you at? ^_^

huh such an effort... well the best way to sound realistic would be playing it on midi velocities but also you should chop some notes something like arpeggios on the same note that can add some realism.
For example if you are playing the C key you can chop it in 3 and each of its parts having different velocities, that adds an extra value to the composition.

Now with processing.

Originally posted by Evolve140 nice vibe right off the bat... vox are mixed in nicely. i like them a lot. reminds me of hanging out with a cute girl ^_^ build up is pretty sweet to, can't wait to hear the drop. nice subtlety with that piano. I would like to hear that bassline low passed though. The grit kind of conflicts with how mellow the track is. Vocals are beautiful. Hell yeah man. NICE! Are you fucking kidding me? This is excellent! At 2:00 though... not digging that Mario piano though. Kind of detracts from the solid vibe you had going before. Focus on that main meat you had before. Vocals are perfect though. |
That is really nice. Very well executed. Only thing I think it might benefit from is placing the bass further back in the mix and maybe reduce the impact of the transient it has, making it a bit less prominent. Other than that it's a really nice track with cool vocals.
I'd enjoy this a lot on my headphones while being on the road . Well done!
edit: Obviously, I didn't read the feedback given earlier haha.

yup yup, super dope. deep house vibe right away. just a really feel goodsound. the breaks are super housey.... overall big house vibe for sure. now a days, sexy soulful vocals mixed in with something like this is the sound a lot of people are after. i would seriously play this out. even if you don't low pass that bass sound, people are going to really like this. do you plan on having this played out anytime soon?
Oh and by the way, nice percussion! the highs really breath well.

Originally posted by Rodri Santos good one, kick needs to be a bit lower for this kind of tracks, reducing it 1-2 db can add some space and you could mix it again but sounds very good. Right now it's -3db/-4db right? I usually mix at-5 for chill tracks. |

Originally posted by Richard Butler Chris this is well black, didn't know you had this sort of track in you. Really cool, perfect. Don't add too many fx and frilly bits, it doesn't need much. |

Latest SystematicfeatDJRushX1's Cloudcasts on Mixcloud

Originally posted by scorpradio Chris, Really dig the vibe you are portraying with this. IMHO it has a Daft feel to it and a great "swing" touch and the vocals [well we all know what that does to a track] I cannot really give any negative feedback in all honesty, this track is solid. I will say that the piano is a little to straight and narrow. Maybe some added delay or a small bit of sustain? Just my 2 cents. Great work!! ------------------------------------ Latest SystematicfeatDJRushX1's Cloudcasts on Mixcloud This is a new track I am working on. It is still unfinished and un mastered. However, was looking for some feedback. Each song I have been doing as of late takes on a different approach from the last. This track is at 140 bpm, I didn't want to make a dubstep track but somewhat filled with bass. Yes, you are seeing this correctly, it is a Katy Perry Reboot. I have nothing against her but in most normal situations I would not listen to her music. The coincidance was the track was pretty much already set in motion and wanted a acapella to go over it. I stumbled upon this and it seemed to fit the mood. What I am curious is, is this track to stable enough on the bass end. Is it to much? Is the track in itself to repetitive? Guess I am just looking for an overall opinion. Any feedback greatly appreciated! |
another new kinda techno one, comments??
Thanks everyone for the comments - much appreciated.
Evolve 140 cheers - I am planning to send it out to some labels when finished and we will see if anything happens.
Thanks
Will give the tracks a listien when not at work

Originally posted by evo8 yeah its ok, the vocal is good quality actually did you do much processing on it? i think the drums are bit a bland maybe - the snare isnt really cutting through im kinda of waiting for it to kick into some mad wobble type bass or something as seems to be par for the course with this style |
Pretty dope sound mate and very well mixed - just pleasing. I agree maybe some hard edged parts to offset the rest could be good - for example around 1.45 when it goes a bit trance breakish in the synths there.
