might need to change the track somehow as it goes past 2nd break as it becomes a bit samey

but yeah, really nice

Thanks! Yeah, it needs some change after second brake. Kick needs some adjustment too, i agree.

thats good, good clean mix, the reverbed bassline is kind of getting lost a bit.....just a bit...the low end has good definition and good kick

and the melody is a bit ambiguous....just a bit

Sounds very clean. Kick is great. I like other sounds too. That "acid" sound that resonate is sometimes maybe too dry.

Posted by gordan100 on Mar-03-2016 17:49:

I've reworked part that starts at about 2:30, but i'm not sure if i like it.

Is this just too weird?

Posted by SystematicX1 on Mar-11-2016 22:42:

Personally, I envision a different rhythm with this track. Your base kick and snare are ok at the same time, I think there could be some xtra ,perhaps D&B elements going on behind it?
Kinda has a spor (aka feed me) feel to it.
Dig it, not crazy at all

some laid back stuff (was doing a lot of heavy techno recently)

This is pretty cool. I really like the clicky percussive synth sound. I kinda feel like it needs to be pushed back a bit with some airy reverb in the second half of the track and maybe find a way to increase the transients in that part too so that it still pushes through the mix.

I wish I could make techno!

In short, no. Not too weird.

Just lay off the compressorz dawg

Haven't really been doing much myself recently, but I knocked out a couple of little loops with the Microbrute in the last day or so. The first one is just a loop with live knob tweaking and goes on a bit, and the second one is more of a track idea that'll never go any furhter than it is now!

Posted by Richard Butler on Mar-11-2016 23:52:

I like track one quite a bit, although the synth gets too loud after a while but a track worth finishing brotha

Track 2...very vibey. That rolling bass has that 80's new wavish feel. Kinda like what M Machine is doing right now. Dig this man!
Curious. At first on the vox delay I wanted more repeatable,however..the more I listen the more it kind of just drips
off the ending of each tone. Just happen that way or intentional?

I get what you mean, although I don't really finish stuff any more. I just piss about with the hardware and record the odd snippit

I would say partially intentional and partially happy accident. The delay is Replika by Native Instruments, which has a very nice saturation and modulation section. I just play with those settings until it sounds right to me. I must confess to being a bit of a fan of over delay'ing vocals.

Posted by SystematicX1 on Mar-12-2016 19:24:

I am the same way. If I could add a vocal hit that says "on"...I want to hear it on and on and on and on...lol
Something to be said however with your vox, the subtlety is actually very complimenting to this.
I'll have to check out Replika

worked on this remix a bit more, still some work to do, but getting closer to where I want to be, need to make some mix and arrangement choices, as not everything gells together yet like i want to be

lol ok, I have no idea why I am posting this as I wont even probably finish it but this is a lol moment.
This past week I got to spend sometime in the northern california redwoods on the beach. I took my laptop in hopes of gaining some inspiration in my surroundings and create something. Well, this is NOT what I expected. For all intent and purposes this is a mashup of an old 80's song (You old guys...DONT LAUGH!!) Here is my contribution to muzak 2016 LOL
oh this is bad..lol kick me out now

Christopher Cross, Sailing?
God what happened, did your rabbit die?
actually it's a decent effort

Hey the redwood coast has been right at top of my bucket list for years. I have a huge fascination with pine forests - they may me feel incredibly happy - wired eh! If I see one, however small, when driving my heart skips a beat - its probably because I spent a lot of time in pine forests as a kid.

I even planted a Redwood tree recently.

Your track is personal to you and the experience you had so is probably quite magical to you, for me it's pleasant mate, a nice listen.

Nice remake. I'll admit that I've always been a fan of CC. Great voice, great songwriter, what's not to like?

What part of NorCal were you in? The redwoods north of SF/Bay Area are about 2 hours from me.

Nice work, Raphie! Really dig that bass and lead synth. I've added this to the SFAFM playlist.

I agree Dave, he was very underrated and always liked his stuff as a kid.
Your in the bay? Had no idea. Im from the santa cruz area but lived in HMB and Foster city/San Mateo area and there all the time it seems.
We were at Tolowa on Pacific Beach above Crescent city. Border of Cali/Oregon.

Ohhhh, no, I'm in the Sacramento area. I thought you were from Vegas, and maybe visiting the Muir redwoods or something. Tolowa is obviously way northwest from me. Still, small world for such a huge state, eh?

I really like this. It has a meandering quality that reminds me of good 90s Electronica. And that sub bass, jeeze! That's pounding my ears on my Focal cans, but not in a bad way.

I'm digging this one too. Oldskool without being retro, and as usual your tracks are sounding.....dare I say it......analogue!!

Here's a little something from me. It's just a short thing again, another hardware test.

This time I had the Analog 4 running a couple of sequences via Overbridge into Ableton Live which was handling drums and the vocal samples. The Microbrute was also being sequenced from Live.

Posted by SystematicX1 on Mar-18-2016 05:11:

tehlord, is that opening arp from the Microbrute? dope! hope you don't just keep that as a test
