i hear that! Yeah, the Elektron drum machines are pretty sweet (seems like they're worth the price).

Love this:

Still waiting to get a Yocto 808 case and then hopefully find someone to build it for me.

Pretty decent video. Not my cup of tea musically, but I'm keen on getting a Push 2 as well to integrate with Live. I can see Live being awesome in that respect as a giant kaoss pad/sample triggerer.

I think the Elektron gear is definitely worth the money as it's so deep an well thought out, not to mention capable. The addition of overbridge adds massive value to the analog devices, especially as it's free!

Just a couple of looped Analog4 renders so far as the learning curve is pretty steep.

I say pretty steep, but really

Nice. Yeah, I was sold after I'd heard the track in that vid. I'd say the same about the old Korg electribes - the ER-1 does have limitations but for the price they go for, lots of these machines are good especially for the sounds peculiar to them, that you can't find on other machines (prolly goes for most gear - I'm sure even the Akai Rhythm Wolf may be useful in a setup).

Yeah I agree, I had an ESX-1 and an EMX-1 last year and they sound inexplicably good. The new Electribes sound awful in comparison, but they've dumbed them down and reduced cost.

Unhooray.

it's funny how no one ever includes their pc or mac in their gear pics...lel...the most important piece.

Posted by Storyteller on Mar-01-2016 10:23:

Usually also the piece everyone has = less fun... Unless its a maxed out Mac pro.

Important in what sense?

Posted by soulstar606 on Mar-01-2016 13:50:

because its what you use to record your mix and upload it to a site

Posted by cryophonik on Mar-01-2016 16:43:

Maybe we need a dedicated "Show us your computer(s)" thread?

Would go great with a 'record your mix and upload it to a site' thread!

lol, i know but it's like p eople leave it out on purpose......or dont highlight it.....like it's just...an assumption....that it's there...but it's not worth showing....

i have a feeliung if this was 1989, whatever the most powerful home computer was at that point, would be front and center...heheheh

What's the point of including the computer in pics if nearly every computer can do the same job? It's not really an "instrument" per se.

Frickin amazing

I'm still getting used to mine, but so far it's love at first sight.

Posted by AlphaStarred on Mar-02-2016 22:16:

Thought it's more of a drum machine? IIRC, it has some synth sounds, not sure what it's primarily used for. If/when I can afford one, might buy it.

If anyone's interested, btw:

It's sold as a DIY kit here for about $650 total. Fully analog and seems to sound better (and is cheaper) than the Acidlab Miami.

Analog 4?

It's a synth. 4 voice analogue, part part multi timbral or 4 voice poly.

Yes, I'm a hypocrite and a liar.

I thought that had been established way back when........

Actually, this is the second one I had. I bought a Microbrute second hand last year and foolishly sold it. These things sound freakin' awesome.
