Dave is the man for spotting deals, I'm kinda shocked we didn't see any memorial day weekend sales. Oh well.
Saw your post on GS cryo - fucking class, health to enjoy it!

Finally have something of a studio coming together (mainly been a laptop and headphones producer). Running FL Studio on this old desktop mac my parents had in a closet that I didn't know they had until today.

If you want to breath life in to that Mac, then make sure you add a Samsung SSD.
about 18months ago it was just starting to show signs of slowing down, so i put a Sammy 830 in there with an ICY dock (you need a drivebay converter) and I still have no intention of upgrading any time soon.
It will make a massive difference to your trusty imac and will probably only cost you $100. Bear in mind the Sata 2 buss is only capable of 3gbs as the negotiated link speed so there's no point getting the latest and greatest sata 3 SSD drive.
let me know if you need any help/tips doing it?

For fucks sake Raphie, that's very serious upgrades.
The AD2015 is one of my favourites of all time. True class A circuitry and the thing is so damn quiet, even when you gain the fuck out of it.
How do you like the HM2 comp?

Got a question.. How you rate dangerous compressor? I know it's on the clean side. Or lets say this: What's you favorite in your setup? I'm trying to decide between the api2500, dangerous, or the nail.. And how do you like dangerous bax? Im just trying to get one of each compressor and eq in hardware form, and can't make up my mind. There are so many amazing units out there.. I'm picking up my PSI A21-M monitors this weekend .. and I guess it's gonna be back to square one. will have to audition the compressors here again.. But just courious.. I know how they sound and all, but just wondering your opinion.. which one you would keep if you could only get one of them? And which one of those fits most toward edm?
Thx
The Dangerous is really clean, the API really thumpy, both are great, if only 1, I would probably choose the dangerous, it just sonds bigger than any clean plugin, the API is great too, but more percussion driven techno tracks, not as much for euphoric trance stuff. The BAX is a good broad strokes EQ easy to dial in overall tone, to rebalance a track, but it's not surgical. Great mixbus combo with the dangerous compressor.
I like the nail for it's tubes it has some edge/dirt which can be nice, for clean I like the dangerous better (also better than the charteroak I sold before. )
@RANN yes the Avalon just sounds expensive, Even when not dialing in EQ, but just engaging it, things start to sound like a Celine Dion track (engineering wise then, not musically ) The BURL does the same thing, just sounds BIG.
I'm actually really impressed with the BUZZ soc (the blue button one) it's really transparant, but liquid, immediately gets that Alexander O'niel, SOSband, Luther vandross smootchy vibe. Optical compression, but in a mixbuss worthy way. Together with the AD 2055 it sounds really high end '80s
It's now easy to mix and match to dial in different vibes.
I'm pretty much done now from a gear perspective, still have some stuff in storage left to sell, once that's sold I might the the BURL DAC as well, but then there is no gas, or WAF (wife acceptance factor) left
Just need to master a lot of tracks. And though the craft comes down to room and skill, I've now got a toolbox that is capable of delivering results only possible at worlds top mastering facilities. It was already not too shabby, but it's now top-notch
Hey, ^ How is the Integra from Roland. Should be cutting edge digital. I'm interested in one.
