?!? Not sure what you are trying to say here?

It's a digital controlled analogue summing mixer with AWS MDACs and 2 mixbusses with their own inserts. It swallows whatever you feed it.

Have a few collabs lined up. Nice remixpack from Caleb as well which I'm going to play with. So more play besides work.

im jealous... the sound is good? cant decide between this or a Tanzbar :-/

Posted by tehlord on Feb-11-2015 20:22:

It sounds very very good. I don't think it sounds like the 808 or 909 at all, but still sounds good in its own right. The hands on aspect of it is really not to be sniffed at and I'm already feeling like I need to learn how to 'play' it.

The DAW integration (audio over USB) is a fucking joke on a PC, but on a Mac where you can aggregate audio devices it'll probably work much better.

The scatter function is a bit of a cheesy afterthought and the FX are 'ok', but the rest of it rocks.

thats a pity the windows DAW integration is poor as i believe it doesnt have individual outputs per channel?

Posted by tehlord on Feb-11-2015 23:52:

It doesn't have individual audio outputs per part, but it does have 4 assignable audio outputs. I just think it's a shame they didn't give it 6 as that would have matched the 6 groups of drum sounds.

So close.........

Added a dedicated place away from my DAW with no keyboard and mouse for just pure jammin with one of my old MIDI keyboards. The monitors are nice incase I need to reference some scales / chords there.

with that number of devices one 1m2 desk should be more than enough.

Yeah I could optimize the left one a bit by getting a slide out keyboard / mouse stand. However, I want to have a keyboard away from my DAW to play on where I am not tempted to do sound design and can just play music.

Going to look through this thread for some ideas but that's a good one thanks...

How are you getting on with the TB3? I'm about to pull the trigger on one despite berating them not so long ago

Posted by djnitride on Feb-16-2015 20:44:

I get a decent amount of use out of it and I like how its workflow/programming works. Its pretty fast for me to program a nice sequence to go along with what I am working on. The only downside to the TB-3 is you can't trigger pattern playback over MIDI, it very much works in a standard MIDI way.

I can't complain about the sound either though I am not quite convinced by the built in distortion, it sounds too harsh for my ears on most settings. Try feeding it into a high quality distortion plugin for best results to phatten/warm up the sound. Camel Phat works wonders for me...

The other builtin effects are nice but I always record with the standard saw/square wave unless I am doing a live jam kind of thing.

Posted by tehlord on Feb-16-2015 21:14:

Cool thanks.

None of the issues you mention bother me that much as I intend to use it mainly as a live performance machine, probably with a guitar pedal distortion.

I think I'll grab one to hook up to the TR8

The only thing stopping me from pulling the trigger on the TR-8 is fucking Windows and its shit support for multiple input sources.

Fuck
