dont mind me, only a minor gripe really could have been the headphones i was listening on, the track is nice

My thoughts without reading anybody else comments Richard - first what I notice it this funny volume fx like automation (volume slightly increase and decrease particularly in the end lol), my second observation is the I would like to have your bass layers a bit more upfront as they drive nicely this whole track and give nice energy boost, last is my complement on the vocal part - really like it man, is this you???

Cheers,

Darek

This is top draw - can you make it into a track please. So casual with you - just something you 'flung' together' no doubt yet I could never make this sound. Great drive. When and if it does turn into a track give me a poke.

Fucking awesome really.

I'd like to hear more stereo in those synth chords. I'd also like to see what happens if you run the vocal through a pre amp sim or something to push it into very mild Muse like distortion. Also get some separation between the vocal and the vocal FX. Oh and lose the autotune

Kickass track though.

Thanks for all the comments on mine as well. I'll probably extend it some more into something resembling a full track, but it'll only ever be a soundset demo

first one, nice sounds but i think the bass is mixed a bit too low? its not standing out for me, would be nice to hear an update with the bass sitting better
second one, dont like the lead and i think the sub drops all the way thru kinda kill the groove

I like the tension as the synths build.

You know you could do some things to make the drums really bring out the groove.

Firstly I think this kick is not quite right. I can imagine a clicky glichy higher kick melded with a low one where the low kick 'talk's to the bass by asking it a question to wit the bass is then the answer. This lower bass wants to be tuned down a couple of semitones or so.

Vary that hats a bit by having one or two different open whoosh hats that make an appearance say on the 7th bar of ever 8, or maybe more frequently. The closed hats are too in my face - make em sweeter and shorter and not so loud.

See how this goes

Can't say if the bongos are to loud or not, sounds good to me. I like how the tension build before the drop and the drop is good. I don't like that sound playing over the bass though. Maybe you could try something different, or maybe it's just me and you should stick with it.

It's not at all bad though. Hard to say anything more with so little.

Deepgroovy: The closed hat is very loud and hard on the ears. In fact all drums seems to be to loud to me. The rest is good I think.

The other one is not for me so will not commentate on that.

Welp...decided to take a stab at a Remix contest which I have only done once before in the past.
This is a WIP I am having alot of fun with and was curious for some feedback.
A couple of notes:
1: Curious on your thoughts with this. I have known the technique for years but never attempted it as really this is only my second song using vocals. It's ghosting. I have always loved the method but learned last night how to do it on ableton (I was like a kid in a candy store) but feel that I may be over using it.
2: I am also wondering if I need more..."punch". The track I am sure will have more once a proper mixdown happens but think it needs...something.
3: The drop....I like how the risers mix in but it has a lax luster feel to it when the drop occurs.

Thanks for anyone taking the time to critique this...really appreciate it

which sound over the bass, that 3 note thing? yeah not mad on it now either so might try a different sound for that
thanks

up to the break is a bit static, could use some hats or something to get a groove going...

Sounds pretty good, I think a problem stems from your kick and outwards, after you get your solid kick done the rest should follow.

Nice feel to the intro although I would maybe suggest something like an arp joining in towards the end of the intro - about 32 bars long so it's not just a stock standard 8 bar arp loop.

I like the risers too.
Like you say the drop is lacking somehow. Always difficult to pull off a good drop. The hats there are a bit clumsy sounding - re - do them. What I think could work would be some sort of synth riff with a lot of attacky impact - a bit like 'Can't get no sleep' by Faithless?

Keep up the good work.

Thanks you guys for the responses and feedback. Always take it to heart.
Still working on it...

Just some shit I started yesterday. Someone came to me for a remix, I would usually decline and given the track was pretty poor, whatever doe. Still dont know what im gonna do with it.

Posted by Storyteller on Jun-10-2013 22:44:

You can do a lot better sir.

Posted by MSZ on Jun-10-2013 22:48:

So can your mom.

You're right man; its definitely not, the original was really bad. I dont know why I really bothered with it, I guess I wanted something to work on. I dont think I will even give it them to release -- pointless. At least it has an oldschool vibe I suppose that is a small victory for me.
