I mean, you can't hook up 5 synthesizers into 4 inputs.

yeh that was the only thing I could think of.. is a mixer cheaper than buying a sound card with like 10ins ? are there any other reasons for using a mixer?

Yeah, you can pick up mixers for pretty cheap and you will have alot more on them than just those inputs you will also have multiple outputs and inserts.

looks good...

only thing i would suggest is move the speakers a bit further apart so you get more of a stereo image and overall better sound.

Posted by Vizay on Sep-02-2004 23:24:

I agree with CJ, put the monitors wider, having them like that doesn't only ruin the stereoimage but it could also result in sounds from both speakers canceling eachother much earlier than else.

ohh and another thing, unless thoose speakers/monitors are built to be lying down I suggest you have them standing like they should because it can also give a somewhat false image of the sound.

forgot to write that apart from what I wrote in my previous post I think it was a very nice setup, the placement of everything looks a little like I want it

well im gona be purchasing along with my next equipment some berigner(sp?) Mointers with stands so i can get rid of these crapy things

Posted by Zombie0915 on Sep-03-2004 00:41:

does anybody have one of these chameleon things?

http://www.soundart-hot.com./english/index.htm

It seems to be more of a toy for nerds who like to play with DSP stuff but I was wondering if any musicians had one too.

It looks like it would be very fun to play with, although some will just call it a really expensive software dongle.

Anyway, I was wondering what ppl though of this thing.

This is my studio a few months ago...
Some Equipment has not been photographed yet, and soon I will replace those crappy speakers with some real studio-monitors...

I believe in a small studio.. what's the point in having a shit load of hardware? I already feel over-whelmed and all I have is a Virus Rack Classic and Spectrasonics Atmosphere

I couldn't agree more.
If I had one of thoose megastudios with 20-30 synths and hardware FX and stuff like that it would probably just hold back my creativity and I would end up just playing with sounds all the time

Posted by ZxZDeViLZxZ on Jan-12-2005 00:32:

totally irrelvent but thought itd definatly be a good post.... it might look like spaghetti everywhere and the synths might be probly some of the hardest on the planet to find. honestly i dont know what id do if i was ever able to be in either of thoose 2 studios. id probly shit myself with lack of words.. btw the studio isnt from the 80s the equitment might be but not the studio.

Why not? The Arp2600 can make the fattest bases around.. And the Oberheim 4-voice can probably make the fattest leads around..
