New: for about 650-700 Euro's.
Second hand: not much less because they're very popular and supposed to be unbreakable.

I dont know if he has the same Sefour-bracket as I do but yes, it will support a laptop. My CD weighs about 7-8 kilos.
But a word of advice, the bracket i have, the UCD-001 is very wibbely-wobbly because it only has one "foot" and the platform it holds
is very wide.

The stand I have is the XB004 which originally has been made for the Sefour X30 DJ Console. But the stand itself is quite steady as I screwed it to the back of my booth with 4 long screws. It's still a bit wobbly, I know what you mean, but this doesn't effect my mixing at all.
