No, you're a fucking old man. Egocentric like some homosexual draq queen.

Really, you basically ruined the fun. Everything was laid-back, goliardic and you and your seriousness killed the mood.

Posted by DJ RANN on Jan-03-2014 01:09:

I'm probably the same age, maybe younger than you, and I don't really see how I'm ego centric or reminsicant of a drag queen. I do find it pathetic that you think being homosexual is some kind of slur or insult (I'm not by the way, but still).

And what fun are you talking of? L4C and Raphie going at it, while idiots weigh in with timeless comments such as "pwnd" and "chavs" on a trance sub forum is your version of fun? You really need to get out more.

You just like people fighting, and I think the only reason you changed your avatar is that it instantly tipped people off as to the fact you contribute little to nothing on here apart from shit stirring. How long did it take you to decide not to use the Guy Fawkes as your avatar?

You don't like this place being serious? Then please fuck off - because the last thing this place needs is more trolling or childish twats.

I'm pretty sure no one comes here to actually learn anymore. Most of us are regulars and stopped learning from forums a long time ago. I just come for the lulz and L4C is usually the one to delivar.

Everyone needs to calm their tits and stop being so serious.

Posted by TranceElevation on Jan-03-2014 01:26:

You RANN are just bla bla bla bla bla bla bla. Really, don't you get tired of being such an annoying twat? A pensioner is livelier than you.

You might, but believe it or not, I actually still get some useful shit from this forum, especially about keeping up with new kit. Some of the industry discussions (piracy, new forms of media outlets, marketing) are actually pretty damn interesting on here.

And my tits are quite fabulous, I'll have you know.

I've only had it a week or so, so knob issues yet. I also know about 3-4 people that have them and haven't had any knob issues so perhaps it's one of those exaggerated internet claims. I dunno really.

Editing is actually pretty good. The matrix is logically laid out and the screen does a very good job of visualising the parameters you want to tweak. There are also a couple of VST editors out there although I'm still trying to find one that's right for me.

Considering the cost, I'd have to give it an 8-9 out of 10.

It does have an unusual sound, and in some ways it sounds a bit dark and boxy but then I realised it just has a different character than the other synths I have. I really like it having spent some time with it and the filters and FX (distortion particularly) are really nice.

Not really, I managed to get my hands on a demo model a few years ago and the knobs were really fucked up, not reacting or skipping. Really liked the sound of it though. Thanks for your reply anyways, my main concern was editing, but it doesn't seem to be much of a problem the way you said it.

This video shows the workflow pretty well.

Posted by The Dark NINJA on Jan-26-2014 20:46:

When i had my blofeld man it worked like a charm, it was like turntablism moving al the knobs in a sound designers kind of way. It had a very tactile feel. Sold cuz i need extra doe but i'm going for a pulse 2 so i be back at it.

Posted by evo8 on Jan-26-2014 21:40:

Supernova looks interesting, how does it sound? late 90s VA right?

had a blofeld but sold it, i found it tedious to edit, probably didnt give it enough of a chance.

Posted by cryophonik on Jan-27-2014 01:20:

Nice SNII, Geoff! I had an SN1 for years and I still think they're pretty sexy.

Posted by tehlord on Jan-27-2014 10:31:

Yeah it's a late 90s VA.

I've already got the Virus and AN1x, but the SN2 came up REALLY cheap on ebay so I had to grab it.

Also, it's got the 8 outputs with FX per part and I want to start doing some live youtube stuff so it's perfect for that.

I've just discovered my Liquid Saffire 56 has two sets of ADAT so I can run 24 channels in, and I can also daisy chain them so hypothetically I could actually run 48 channels in if I buy another FX Saffire Pro or something. I need to check whether that last part is possible though. I would have thought you'd need two firewire connections going into the computer (which I've got) to run 48 channels at a time, but I don't even know if it's possible.

I'd love to be able to run 8 drum parts and 8 SN2 parts into Cubase and have 32 channels left over though

Is there a van dame Trs 1/4 to Trs 1/4 cable for stereo synths. I want to get the most out of my pulse 2 yo.

It would be a mono cable so only Tip and Sleeve. Use the Van Damme Pro Grade Classic XKE instrument cable. Get the Neutrik Np2x-b connectors.

Doesn't the pulse 2 have stereo out?

Yes, two mono outs; 1 x left and 1 x right. They are two mono outputs. IThey are not balanced out so therefore do not require TRS (3 conductor) cables, just TS mono cables like the Van Damme ones I listed above.

Oh thanks a lot Rann. appreciate it.
