And i don't know an engineer , like actual engineer , alive that keeps their place that tidy. Your pictures show quite clearly someone that doesn't know what to buy and just wants to be cool once in their life while they probably neglect their family for the love of amateur techno. It isn't a surprise the shit on your sound cloud is as sanitized as your studio pictures. You manage to make everything sound rather digital and bland quite well

but it really is your sort of endless photo shoots, spending all this money, then making posts about needing free webwork done like you spent 15 000 on cables and then can't afford 2000 for a website. This tells me you are a horrible dad , your wife is fucking ugly because there is no way any remotely good looking wife wouldn't demand her share in shoes, and you are living out some sort of stupid fantasy that is never going to pan out. It is funny for the same reason SHM made most chuckle when they posted those pics.

those hard rives > umm that was supposed to be funny and non senssical. But ya, those were all thunderbolt g drives, about 15 of them, so i don't know 15 x 600$ US. Except those hard rives have a purpose. There was also that picture of the 15 or so bottles of yquem which was probably what 1000 x 15 give or take. And that is just one place, I have stuff in storage in 2 different cities. You don't seem to understand that money and things mean nothing. I'm not in "the industry" (neither are u btw) never talked about a career, I"m just a guy with a nice studio, where as you should know my hardware doesn't cater for presets. I do however have a set of paying customers.

You have no portfolio, no hardware (not taking your harddrive collection into account) and no skills, other than empty sideline bashing.
Though I do appreciate your futile attempts to paint a different picture of me. It's not really working.

First off, and keeping it technical, I'll disagree with the statement that cables don't matter, even for short runs making EDM. I know what you're saying for the vast majority of people but there's enough people on here with decent kit to benefit. Also for discussion purposes we should talk in terms of what would be the best situation should the funds allow and in both raphie's, mine and your case, the funds do allow. Analogue audio is a little more complex and nuanced than just a finite choice of it conducts, or doesn't, but let's not get in to that right now.

With the kit Raphie has spending $1k on van damme isn't disproportionate to the quality and expense of the other kit. In that respect, he's right to do it as your chain is only as good as it's weakest link and everything else in that chain is pretty much pristine.

Is it a little daft to have other cables worth $15k and no money for a website? Yes. In terms of priorities (one makes you money (website) the other is smoke and mirrors (no cable should cost anywhere near of even 10% of that).

We've been through this before - If you don't want to beleive him, take my word for it. He is indeed a working composer for film and TV, he has more personal wealth that probably everyone commenting on the last 2 pages combined and although it doesn't look pretty, he's got more expensive kit just lying around being unused than 90% of you have as your total equipment list. I have thought about cat burgling him just for his mic collection which he doesn't even use.

And I know something may be lost in translation with some of you non native english speakers, but trying to insult him because of Clooney only makes you look incredibly stupid;

If you haven't realized, it's exactly designed to for that purpose. He's got like 10 of the those alts (Mad4Brad, Keen4Sheen, Crayze4Swayze etc etc). The kitchen is near empty and nearly everyone decided it's no longer worth it to "watch and learn" as there is nothing to learn. He has proven that time after time with his "knowledge" the guy might be able to play piano, but he knows jack shit about production engineering.

This subforum is supposed to be self regulating, but it's not, its L4C regulated, threads can live for as long as he doesn't "jump inn" once he does the thread is dead. Because no one wants "to be told" by him. If this is how we want to move forward then all good, let the community deteriorate further and let him keep this forum hostage. All fine with me.

I hear what you're saying Raphie but the thing I've never understood is that the power lies with the people posting.

I've never understood why this is such a hard concept to grasp? The more people play in to it, the more it fans the flames.

In the last 10 years, I can only really think of 2 occasions where trolling bullshit got so out of hand that a mod had to step in to regulate (Chronodevir and w.illiam_A.Shley). Every other situation could have been diffused by just people not getting worked up.

I also don't believe this forum is really that dead - I've seen it a lot quieter than this and it always comes back.

The noobs sometimes get scared off because the level of knowledge is so high among the regulars that they ask really basic, spoon feed, lazy questions, they get quite a beating.

It's just immature people that don't know how to handle these situations. I find him quite funny at times and I know many people like him probably because of the industry we both work in (and trust me, you aint seen nothing if you think he can get you wound up).

If someone says something you don't like, then ignore it and move on with the discussion.

If someone habitually makes or pokes fun of you for no good reason, then one PM to our mod gets them a warning, a holiday or permanent ban.

This isn't rocket science guys.

I also think that many people have an overly formed sense of entitlement and self worth, so they freak out when someone toys with them.

Same with one of the recent noobs that starting asking fucking dumb questions and got his arse handed to him. It would not even be 1% of what he'd get if spoke like that in a real studio environment (I've seen grown men reduced to tears in some studios by sharp tongued engieers and composers). Not saying it's right, but in this life a thick skin and the ability to laugh at yourself will serve you a lot better than an over inflated opinion of yourself.

Look at how both raphie and dave (cryo) have handled these situations recently.
