as a reference - there is another layer of bass that is missing in yours. It's hard to get right but crucial for this genre

Yeah. DO NOT bin this. The beat is sexy, the mood is dark and brooding, and the breakdown is creepy and full of tension in very good ways. You just need to write your way out of the breakdown and you're good to go--maybe using those same vocal samples as a big hook on top of all the other stuff.

The track is not really one I'd listen to, but none the less I commend the brooding atmosphere and mix. Nothing wrong with it per see, it's just not dancey enough for my own tastes.

The vibe on this is pretty intense. Would like to see a deeper kick and possible some sidechained ducking on the bass and possibly lower the bassline volume a tiny bit. The atmosphere is really really good. If you can get the beat rolling a bit more you're gold imo.

This is seriously nice. I think it could do with a few more breaks from the piano in the 2nd half of the song, but it's beautiful. I think the mix is like a nice warm cup of hot chocolate. So if that's what you were going for, then... you did it. I think some sweeping transition FX would aid the song, but it might take away from how raw it feels right now. I don't really feel like it has a climax or an ending - it sort of feels a bit like an interlude, but IDK if that's what you were going for stylistically. I think I'd like to see the progression get a little more complicated and then simplify again when the track starts to end.

I don't think it's boring and loopy. I think at most it's just not trendy. I feel like you hate deadmau5 but you make a lot of stuff that reminds me of his earlier productions. This is a new remix I started for my friends Bassfarmers. The only think I used from the original is the vocals. Not even in the same key
The original is pretty kick ass too. The first time I listened to it though I knew exactly what I wanted to do with the vocal. I totally changed the arrangement of them.

Toby, to be really honest with you my friend I didn't quite get this track vibe after running it ones (for some reason) only after sit on it for like few times I started to slowly appreciate this emotional aspect of it - there is some structural elements/parts which I still don't fully understand but again this is your vision of the music not my - I would call it "Trance Interlude" (like Sean mention already) lol

A complete overhaul of the remix I posted several weeks ago. Not really happy about this yet. Some parts progress too little and others too fast making it feel a bit incoherent to me. Matt, this is one of those tracks from you (lol at least a WIP so far) which I really enjoyed - this smooth melancholic flavor make this music really appealing to my taste. Your drums + bass line works perfectly together which give this track a solid core to develop the rest of your sounds/structure base on

yeah im thinking the same about the kick, doesnt extend low enough imo
would not bin this, really nice piece of work. Love the bass, reminds me of old Luke Chable stuff, what are you using for that kind of bass??

@seandroid, wouldnt be into this kind of music but thats a really strong production there, very good stuff
