Well, I got married and moved into a new place, so I needed money for the wedding and furniture. Apart from that, I was basically done with the Andromeda. I got to know it like the back of my hand, which is a good thing, but I like learning new synths and it was staning in the way of that.

As for the Focals, I alwyas liked them, but I guess really expensive monitors just aren't worth the price... not for me, anyway. From the day I got them and first heard, my first thought was "this is it?" I guess I built them up too much in my head, in the end, they where still just speakers. Plus I've always enjoyed mixing on headphones more.

I didn't think I needed the MOTU anymore and knew I had issues with M-Audio so tried EMU. Now I'm going back to MOTU, probably another 2408. My Mini-DAC broke, so I'm using the SPDIF out of my EMU into a receiver. Worst DAC ever on this thing. So harsh.

I also sold my UAD-Quad with literally every plugin at the time for something like $3,000. Waves has gotten immensely better over the past five years... and it's... umm.. free. Sorta. So Waves is now at the point where it can easily hold up to the UAD. That coupled with modern quad core CPUs makes the UAD kinda useless in my eyes.

I've also switched focus from music to sound design. I enjoy it just as much and it pays way better.

free sorta

i there is anything i find funny is unashamed pirating. Thats right, i'm use your shit and i'm loving it and fuck you! I mean it is sad when it is a small guy but waves, funny. I'm laughing with you.

here's a fucked up one of mine... although the juno 106 has been sold and an alpha juno 2 and moog source are on the way

also there
drumtraks
kawai km3 rack
roland mks-30
tc-helicon voice touch live
shure sm7b
mackie 824 mk2

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Aug-23-2012 20:02:

lol damn. That is fucking trippy.

The setup shown sort of leaves out a whole bunch of stuff on the side but i don't like the way it is organized. And then some synths and pre amps on the right

And i also have a room for recording piano violin guitar drums but it isn't so exciting.

The skull and crossbones is at odds with the rest of your wall carpet. Also if you are into psychedelics, not really a good idea to have macabre images around.

What do you think of the An1x? I played with one a while ago, it didn't really stick out at all. You could hear every notch in the filter.

what is up with the air conditioner right there isn't that thing loud

I have a CS1x. I'd gladly trade it for an AN1x though. It's arpeggiator is so underpowered it slows down and loses sync whenever you do a filter sweep.

Yes but it's only needed during the summer. I'll run it until the room's cool then turn it off again...good for a couple of hours.

Posted by Rodri Santos on Oct-25-2012 22:47:

the other die 7 skies uploaded a picture of his studio and he had a pillow in a corner for acoustics, you can believe everything you want about random stuff.
