Does not sound outstanding yet but certainly does not sound bad, vocals seem a bit out of key at points but i think vocals will sit well, i see a good potential i like this kind of "yacht house " tunes show me the final version and i will tell you if something needs more work so far... great potential.

At the moment is very dry yet as vocal need to be re-recorded (for now it is only a space reservation to complete structural arrangement).

She found me on SoundCloud and offer an collab on my track preview - so good things will happen with your dedication and persistence

So give it a run (it is a private track so you would not find it on SoundCloud):

normally wouldnt listen to stuff like this but i kinda like it! Has that deadmau5 feel
But i think its a bit heavy in the low-mids in places - if you listen to the radio mix of I Remember you can hear it has more space down there and lets the vocal be more dominant in that range

and yeah, some of the vox are a bit off in places! but overall nice tune! some more work maybe to make it more pleasant on the ears overall and i would listen to it more

one more thing just at 3:45 if you automate the bass eq leading up to that drop i think the drop will be much nicer - at the moment im not really sure is the track really in at 3:16???

Sweet man, appreciate -> and yes this whole vocal will be soon rerecorded so hopefully we will remove all of those out of key moments

All the best Rodri

an attempt at a more funkier sound........

p.s. how good is Valhalla Vintage Verb, covers so much ground, for 50 dollars is just ridiculous

Darius - really like her vocals, especially in the drop - I wouldn't re - record that part mate, they are perfectly sung.
Great track - your best ever.

Very Very good, the beginning sounds like PVD. I'm not too sure set on the kick drum tho it can use more definition on the highs by layering perhaps? The rest sounds awesome.

EVO - that shit rocks!

Just one thing - that screaming dropping siren - maybe have it go quieter sometimes as it gets a bit irritating.

I like it but has no real groove and kick is hidden with the rest of the elements, the virus type synth looks very cool.

--------------------------------------------------------------

I have been working on this for too long, maybe 3 hours already and in this time i should have made a lot more, it's simply that i'm not feeing this at all. Do you think i should stop working on this and start with something else??

This is uncarefully slammed, last minute is what the main chorus should look like. Rest is just to see the other elements more clearly.

Thx!

Rodri that one sounds like 1994 Super Mario tune. I say move on from this one. Sorry mate.

Thanks Paul for your comment, appreciate - right now this production is in re-recording stage and some of your findings will/should be taken care.

As far as my bass line - yah, it's in final adjusted stage lol - nice to hear from you man

Really cool, like it a lot on he whole. But ill try and make constructive criticisms as imo thats a lot more useful than patting on the back!

For me the vocal @ .50 is just too quirky and strange sounding, really don't like that part personally.

Really like the hook at 1.50 sounds really cool synth wise and vocals

For me the bass @ 3.00 isnt working properly, think its having a conflict with same lows coming from pads or other synths i would again look at increasing the high pass on these parts to avoid muddiness or get id of them?

Perhaps try some light saturation on synths for a bit of grit?

i think its got loads of potential but if you a/b with some similar commercial tracks it could be awesome!

When you rerecord vocals maybe double track for added thickness??

My tracks coming along but been a bit ill/down the last week or 2 so haven't done much work!

Lovely feel and groove in my humble opinion. Again i feel personally feel this is a bit thin in the mids.

Sorry Rodri but i agree with Richard. I like the synth melodies they are cool but there's not really any sub and kick isn't really cutting thorough in my humble opinion.

Overall I like it. Good sound design and mixing. I might hear too much lows on the vocal reverb, but it may be fine. Your tracks are usually so melodic there is a lot to listen to!

Posted by Rodri Santos on May-14-2013 16:36:

i think is simply that i've lost the focus completely for uplifting i am stuck in the 1998 period and can't make anything that sounds remotely modern and fashionable, i have a good melody in my head but maybe i'd try a 140 bpm tech trance withot elaborated melody i am better at this than with the happy stuff

Posted by chris marsh on May-14-2013 16:55:

still lots to do on this

any thoughts welcome

just realized i dont like the fm risr before the drop sounds horrid thats going for sure!

Until 3:30 sounds a bit empty needs something else, an automation , reverb on the pikes... but as i've said i am a bit clueless on this i lost all the interest in this genre around 2008 because all the tracks sounded alike yours is not an exception but this maybe should be good, a n old Giuseppe Ottaviani feeling right there, the riser it's indeed horrible and not effective but you already spotted it.

Chris, this sound (technically speaking) good, no complains from my site but to be honest (and ignore that if you don't agree with me )
feels more align with 2000 Trance standard then today's my friend and would take some serious reconstruction (at least in sound design department) to get this WIP to today standard/level.

Cheers,

Darek

Ok thanks for your input. I agree that the sounds could do with redesgn thats a good point. I must admit I was going more for a 2009 style sound than a 2000 sound - the reason being that I haven't been making trance long (about a year now) and definatly don't have the production "chops" yet to tackle the modern trance sound - which it seems has very very high production standards. Hopefully I will in time and with practise and dedication
But honesty is the best policy as long as its objective. My aim for this track really is to make a track that stands up to that 2009 ish type sound and I actually personally believe that it may well do in the end - so although I wholeheartdly agree that this won't stand up to modern trance I respectfully disagree that it will sound like a track that's 13 odd years old by the time its properly finished and mixed._
